Little is known about “Bikhre Phool”(1948). HFGK in fact has kept this movie in the appendix of part II opining that the movie appeared to be a movie of 1940s.

“Patjhad”(1948) was directed by Ravindra Dave for Pancholi Arts Films, Lahore. The movie had Meena Shorey, Amarnath, G N Butt, Om Prakash, Shamlal, Rani Mumtaz, Kamal, Geeta, zafar, Ghulam Qadir, Cuckkoo etc in it.

Today, 25th of October 2017, is the thirty seventh ‘remembrance anniversary’ of the great ‘poet-lyricist’ Sahir Ludhianvi. He passed away this day in 1980 leaving behind the great legacy of his poems and leaving behind his immortal poetry which people are still enjoying, discussing, and even doing research on it and writing about his life and his poetry. And like me there will be many who will agree that Sahir and his poetry will be discussed as long as Hindi Cinema and HFM exists and his poetry will be discussed so long as humanity and human relations, emotions exists.

I have in one of my earlier posts mentioned this that music lovers like me always have songs playing in their mind. Or some incidents/memories will always bring some song to mind (that is what I think). For me many things / situations time to time bring me to some song, or it will remind me of some song that I would have listened earlier may be years before or a song which is lying dormant in my memory.

The month of ‘August’ holds a very special place in our hearts. We celebrate our Independence Day on the Fifteenth day of this month every year since 1947.
In 1942 the ‘Quit India Movement’ or the ‘Bharat Chhodo Andolan’ was launched on 8th August’1942 and Gandhi ji gave a call of ‘Do or Die’. Starting 9th Aug’1942 in the next few days the whole nation witnessed the greatest uprising against the British. Today (9 august 2017) is the 75th anniversary of that important date.
