“Vachan” was a movie produced by Devendra Goel. This movie was also the debut movie of Ravi as a music director. Ravi, who was till then an assistant of Hemant Kumar made a mark as an independent music director with this movie and he never looked back since.

This is a lovely song in all respects. The movie is “Phagun” (1958 ) and the song is an O P Nayyar composition sung by Rafi and Asha Bhonsle. Qamar Jalalabadi is the lyricist.

When one listens to old song, one needs to have some appreciation of history, otherwise one tends to judge old songs by present day standards and thus he/ she may do grave injustice to old songs while making hasty judgements about them.

This is a “bus” song where Dev Anand is the bus driver and Sadhana is the only passenger. The bus goes in a deserted place and very conveniently conks off.

The only song from “April Fool” that I was aware of was the title song “April fool banaya to unko gussa aaya”. It was only after Raja’s farmaishes that I realised that there were other songs in this movie as well. 😉
