I am aware of a few songs from “Kaala Bazaar” (1960) but this song is “new” even for me. This song “teri dhoom har kahin” is a lighthearted song that was not meant to become a timeless song, I am sure. But it is a nice song to listen to nevertheless.

I was not aware that Madan Mohan had ever worked in a movie starring Shashi Kapoor. Now I realise that “Neend Hamaari Khwaab Tumhaare” (1966) was indeed one such movie.

It is interesting to realise that Shammi Kapoor was around since early 1950s, and he in fact acted opposite a top actress like Suraiyya, no less. This was in a movie called “Shama Parwaana” (1954).

In Indian thinking, pursuit of money was considered bad and people who had too much money were considered evil. In fact, that stereotyping can be seen very much in older Bollywood movies, where the grocer aka lala ( often played by Kanhaiyalal, Jeewan etc) is always shown as an evil character.
