Then there are cases of movies where the movie itself was/is not represented in the blog. “Aradhana” (1969) was one movie that was not represented for a long time. I am coming round to the view that the popular category of songs, viz “How come this soong was not posted earlier” contains not just hundreds, but thousands of songs. There are so many great songs that have not yet figured in the blog, despite this blog boasting of over 5500 songs.

“Kanyaadaan” (1968) was a movie with great songs but not so great storyline. In other words, the movie did not deserve the song that it got. This is the view of Memsaab, who must be the most tolerant reviewer of Hindi movies that one can come across.

“Tere Ghar Ke Saamne” (1963) was a Navketan International presentation and it was directed by Vijay Anand. Starcast of the movie had Dev Anand, Nutan, Pratima Devi, Rashid Khan, Harin Chattopadhyaya, Om Prakash, Parveen Choudhary, Jankidas, Rajendranath etc in it.

Singing filmy songs is a career not only for playback singers but also for small time beggars etc in real life. We in these pages have discussed beggars singing Hindi movie songs on Mumbai local trains. I wonder if beggars still sing such songs on these locals, seeing how crowded these train are. Singing these songs on the roadside, or typically while seated under a tree on the streets is a much better option.
