It has been a while that I made a contribution to the blog. Not that I have been away, but once the momentum is gone, lethargy sets in. Many day to day activities, that many of us take for granted used to be (still is) very important household chores. One such activity is/ was bringing water. These days, many homes have water taps where they get water supplied from their municipal corporation and the householders need not go out of their homes to fetch water. But we still have a sizeable population who have to go out to bring water (either at community water taps, or at private or community wells/ tubewells, or at rivers/ ponds. This activity is mainly the preserve of womenfolk. and while these ladies are at it, they obviously exchange the latest gossips among themselves.
