Today’s song is from a popular film Shiv Parvati-1962. Recently, a song from film “Shankar Parvati” was posted here. It is a coincidence. The stories of both the films are more or less the same, with little changes here and there to suit the changed tastes of audience.

Today (24 march 2016) is Holi, the Indian festival of colours. This happens to be the eighth Holi festival for this blog.
It goes without saying that being around for so many years and celebrating this (as well as other festivals) together is in itself a cause for celebration.

Given that today is the celebration of Holi. Also given that there is this Hindi film which has a title based on this festival name. Further given that this film has a wonderful song which celebrates this festival, and the song ‘mukhda’ is based on the title of the film, which, as I said before, is based on this festival name. Then another given that this song has been quite popular in its time, and exists in the collective memory of the music lovers. Plus also given that this film is from 1970, which is an era that is verily fresh in the minds of the bandwagon companions, and other contemporary lovers of music. Furthermore. We have been celebrating Holi on this blog for eight years in a row now.

If I ever say this front of my son, he is going to laugh at me, I am sure. He will have hundred examples to disprove the concept.

If we could navigate the time, as we navigate the space, then we could, at will, return to the past moments and relive them, as we desired. But no, the time is not in our control. We are, in turn, tied to an ever forward-progressing passage of time, where the moments once passed, can never be revisited. And so, the Designer of this universe, invented the artifact of memory, placed it in our brains, and linked it to our hearts and minds. And so, we remember.
