“Mohabbat Zindagi Hai” (1966) was produced by K. C. Gulati and directed by Jagdish Nirula for Roop Chaaya, Bombay. The movie had Dharmendra, Rajshree, Mehmood, Nazir Hussain, Chaand Usmani, Deven Verma, Badri Prasad, Sunder, Man Mohan, Madhavi, Kundan, Kesho(Keshav Rana), Parasram, Kirti aka Kirti Kumar, Raj Dewan, Dinanath, Johnny Whiskey, etc. O.P. Nayyar was the music director for songs written by S.H. Bihari. Mahendra Kapoor, Mohd. Mukesh and His Composers – 33
Singer and composer Narayan Dutt is a victim of same-name confusion where he is always mistaken for the more famous N Datta. The confusion further escalates with Datt, Dutta etc. being used for both composers. The career of Narayan Dutt has already been written by our Arunkumar ji in his posts for the songs “Dagmag Dagmag Doley Naiya” (film ‘Jogan’, 1950) and “Gupchup Un Sang Ho Gayin Akhiyaan Chaar Re” (film ‘Mordhwaj’, 1952)

In one of his posts, around 10 years or so ago, Atulji had written (I am not sure of the exact words he had used) that when he spoke about some of the actors of yesteryears, even Amitabh Bachchan, to his young daughter he had to give reference ‘Abhishek Bachchan’s father’.

In this post I am presenting a ‘Qawwalee’ song which is one of my ‘favorite genres’ of songs. So when browsing HFGK Vol-IV (1961-1970) I noted that there is a ‘Qawwalee’ in the list of songs from this movie ‘Badmaash-1969’, I immediately checked for its link and it was already available on internet. This movie ‘Badmaash-1969’ made its debut on the blog on 23.05.2018 when our respected Shri Sudhir jee presented its song ‘uthhaa palkein milaa nazren’ on the blog. This movie was then a ‘missing movie’ for the blog.

On the afternoon of August 27, 1976, in Detroit city of America and at Hotel Pontchartrain to be precise, Mukesh had a massive heart attack and passed away on his way to the hospital. Less than a mile away at Ford Auditorium, he was supposed to perform his last concert of his 1976 US tour. But it was not to be.
A copy of his beloved Ramayan and his self-assurance that his son would continue his legacy were with him when he passed away.
On his remembrance day today, we pay tributes to Mukesh who passed away with his boots on.
