I have a catgory of songs in this blog called “dance competition” songs. In this category, typically two dancers compete against each other. This has led to some superb dance competitions between dancers of formidable reputations.

Bollywood Mujra songs tend to be sung at a slow pace accompanied by slowly moving Mujra dancing. But here is a Mujra song on steroids. The song is quite a fast paced song, and the dance is at a break-neck speed too.

Long ago, when I was a school kid, I was an avid radio listener. One of the radio programmes that I regularly listened to was “Vishesh Jaimala” broadcast on saturday evening (and repeated on sunday afternoon). This programme was presented by a celebrity from Bollywood, but sometimes celebrities from other fields were also invited to present the programme.

Most of the stories in Bollywood movies are derived from the Indian traditions. And in Indian tradition, though a married woman is called “ardhaanigini” (significant half- let us say), but on the other hand, she is required to treat her husband as a superior being, her god, and her place is supposed to be at his feet.
