Hullo Atuldom
Two years back, on this date I had sent this song to pay tribute to two legends of Bollywood a.k.a. Hindi film world. It was from the 1979 released Harmesh Malhotra directed & Gullu Sippy produced “Bagula Bhagat”. The cast was as follows: Ashok Kumar, Shatrughan Sinha, Shabana Azmi, Kamini Kaushal, Padma Khanna, Mehmood Jr. etc At that time, I had seen a short part of the film and thought I had spied Anwar Hussien & Goga Kapoor as his henchman. It had music by Kalyanji Anandji and songs written by Anjaan. Kishore Kumar, Mahendra Kapoor, Amit Kumar and Asha Bhonsle were the playback singers used in the 4 songs.

Geetanjali Pictures of Hemant Kumar had tasted success in the genre of suspense/mystery thriller in ‘Bees Saal Baad’ (1962) and ‘Kohra’ (1964). The banner had also produced ‘Faraar’ (1965), ‘Bibi Aur Makaan’ (1966) and ‘Khamoshi’ (1970) without much success at the box office. After a decade of the box office success of ‘Bees Saal Baad’ (1962), Hemant Kumar tried to repeat the success formula in ‘Bees Saal Pahele’ (1972). He introduced his son, Ritesh Mukherjee (real name: Jayanta Mukherjee, husband of Moushumi Chatterjee) in the lead role.

The cast of this movie included Ranjeeta, Mithun Chakraborty, Dr Shreeram Lagoo, Urmila Bhatt, Jayshree T., Sharat Saxena, and Om Shivpuri. They were supported by Yunus Parvez, Janki Das, Sundar, Bhagwan, Shakeel, Satyabhan Sinha, Naresh, Pardesi, Master Sandeep, Shobha Khote, Mala Jaggi, Uma Khosla, and Jagdeep. The story, screenplay and dialogues of this movie were written by Khalid & Narvi. Editing of this film was done by Mukhtar Ahmed.

The songs were composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal & written by Anand Bakshi. We continue the series with composer Vishnu Khanna. He seems to have composed music for only two films. Both these films have been introduced on the blog with one song each as follows.
- “Poorab Chaloge Chaloongi, Paschim Chaloge Chaloongi“ – Patni (1970), a solo by Suman Kalayanpur which has been covered by Sudhir ji
- “Kaisi Shaam Suhaani Aayi Re“ – Pasand Apni Apni (1972), a solo by Rafi saab covered by Satyajit Rajurkar ji
The composer continues to remain obscure. No information seems to be available on him other than what is already known.

‘Geeta Mera Naam’ was a 1974 movie produced by RK Nayyar. Sadhana was the star and the director of the film. The film also starred Sunil Dutt, Feroz Khan, Helen, Rajendranath, Ramesh Deo, Agha, Birbal, Janakidas, Manmohan, Jr. Mehmood, Keshto Mukherjee, Purnima, Murad, Achala Sachdev, Keshav Rana, Randhir, Birbal, Ram Avtar etc. The film’s music was by Laxmikant Pyarelal. Rajendra Krishan was the lyricist. Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsle & Mohd Rafi were the playback singers used.
