Today’s song is from the film Tulsi Vivah – 1971.
By coincidence, the film was also made by Tulsi Films, Bombay. It was directed by Candrakant (Gaur). The film’s music was by a “once upon a time” famous, but now at the end of his career, Music Director C. Ramchandra. Lyrics were by Pradeep. The cast included Dara Singh, Jayashree Gadkar, Randhawa, Azad, Abhi Bhattacharya, Anita guha, Rajan Haksar and many others. If only the cast names are shown to anyone, he will surely think that the film was a stunt/action film, what with names of pehelwans like Dara Singh, Randhawa and Azad ! I have seen this film. Dara Singh has done the role of Shiv ji in it. Whenever he talked, you would feel that he would lift and throw the person in front of him!!

#Bhoole-Bisre Geet # (Debutant Movie)
—————————————
I do not remember that I was ever aware of this movie ‘Cobra’ or this title in my growing up years. I became aware of this movie only in 2015 when I got the copy of Geet Kosh Vol V (1971-1980). This movie has a song sung by singer Anwar and that is the reason for this post here. I came across the audio of this song a couple of years ago, and now the video of this song has also become available on internet. Even the movie is now available on online platform.
I guess that this must be an obscure movie of its time. Though it is now available online, but I have not yet watched this movie there. Interested readers can watch this movie on internet. I would request those knowledgeable readers who have already watched this movie to please share their feedback about this movie and its songs here on this blog. Geet Kosh Vol-V mentions this movie as a social movie.

This is a role reversal to “Abhi na jaao chhod ke, ke dil abhi bhara Nahin”. Here Hema Malini is trying to stop Dharmendra from going to his job. She is calling him ‘Raja” and asking him not to leave her alone, take leave from work, or better to leave the job if he is not getting holiday. The filmy or flimsy situation, Lata Mangeshkar’s playback, Hema Malini looking resplendent in a red jacket/suit, begging. Dharmendra on his part is just trying to get away on whatever transport he can find and enjoying all the attention. All that bhav is good for the hero anyway. Songs like “haay haay yeh majboori”, “Na ja mere hamdam”, “bataa doon kya laana” and others convey the similar emotion in different ways.

This nice song is sung by Mohd. Rafi, written by Omkar Varma and composed by Sonik Omi.
The first song of this movie was posted by our Mr. Avinash Ji in June this year.
From the above post we also get to know that ‘Playboy -1975’ is also known as ‘Rangeelaa Mastaanaa’. It was directed by T. Janakiram for ‘Mahesh Movie International, Madras’. It had Roopesh Kumar, Ritu Kamal, Mohan Choti, Fariyal, Hiralal and a host of other artists.

#The Decade of Seventies – 1971 – 1980 #
————————————————————
In this post I am presenting a duet sung by Kishore Kumar and Sharda which is composed by Sharda. I guess this is one of the very few duets they sung together and this must be the first of them to appear on this blog today.
The movie ‘Mandir Masjid-1977’ was directed by Mohammad Hussain for ‘K.K. Movies, Bombay’. Krishan Karim was the producer of this movie which was passed by the Censor Board on 20.07.1977. Rafi Sahab’s Legendary Associations – 15
Back in 2021, I had started this ambitious series for posts to highlight the significant associations in Rafi Sahab’s career. I knew that very few and far between, songs of the major influencers on Rafi Sahab’s singing, were remaining to be posted in the blog, even in 2021.
Most of these stalwarts were old timers, like Naushad, S. D. Burman, Shankar-Jaikishan, Chitragupt, Ravi and C. Ramchandra etc. A few of them of them were more contemporary, like R. D. Burman and Laxmikant-Pyarelal, who were with him. They were the latest beneficiaries of Rafi magic, who were ‘faizyafta” till the end, in 1980. Both started in 1966-67 and continued. Even Kalyanji-Anandji was composing songs for Rafi sahab till the end of 70’s. Madan Mohan and Ravi did it throughout his career and till “Laila Majnu” in 1976, and was the only one who started in 50’s and ended and 70’s, apart from Naushad.
