Hullo Atuldom
There have been three posts today, by Avinashji, an ardent fan of the Panchamda a.k.a. R. D. Burman- a music director who was a favorite of an entire generation of Film Music lovers. Pancham’s Music – Eighties (1981-1990)
Today 27th June’2024 is the birth anniversary of Rahul Dev Burman. On this occasion we are paying our tributes to him by posting some of the songs composed by him.
For the last few years I have been regularly listening to songs composed by R.D. Burman on radio or on playlist recorded in a pen-drive. It is always a pleasure to listen to the songs composed by Pancham as many RD Burman songs composed by him are my favourites. Listening to his well known songs as well as songs that I was not aware of is a new experience now. I during my growing up years may not have been able to discern the nuances of his music, including music created through unconventional ‘instruments’.

#R.D. Burman’s (27.06.1939-04.01.1994) 85th birth anniversary#
Pancham’s Music – The Decade of Eighties (1981-1990) –
Today 27th June’2024 is the eighty-fifth birth anniversary of the legendary music composer Rahul Dev Burman. He was born on 27th June’1939 and he passed away on 4th January’1994. Today on the occasion of his birth anniversary we pay our tributes to R.D. Burman on this blog by covering a few songs composed by him.
One of the most successful successful collaboration of HFM was one where Rahul Dev Burman composed music for movies directed by Shakti Samanta where lead actor was Rajesh Khanna and lyricist was Anand Bakshi.

This “Social” movie had Farooque Sheikh, Dipti Nawal, Saeed Jaafry, Rakesh Bedi, Ravi Vaswani (debut), Leela Mishra, Chaman Bagga, John Shaw, Madan Sharma, Kamal Nathani, Keemti Anand, Kamla, Vinod Nagpal, Ravi Kiran Shashtri, Alka Nupur, Shiv, E Rajendran, Vinni Joglekar, Partho Roy etc in it. The movie had Ranjan Grewal and Vinod Doshi in special appearances whileAmitabh Bachcchan and Rekha made guest appearances.

The Ranchiwala Gaanewala (a name bestowed on our fearless leader by Sudhirji) had gone down memory lane with this post. He had spoken about his growing-up years in the railway quarters that was his home for 28 years. He had spoken about looking for friends and classmates with whom he had long-lost contact using the various social media options.
Today, as I sat to write this post, I revisited the 19th July, 2019 post. It reminded me of how I managed to locate a lot of my classmates of school in the last three years -thanks to WhatsApp & Facebook. (both of these social media forums have become essential devils).

It has been exactly 619 days from my last post on this blog. There are many reasons, but most important was the paucity of time. Two years ago I accepted a part time job with a prestigious telecom company, which is a home based desk job. Although I work 4 hours a day, it still makes it that much harder to find time for those things that you love to do.

The movie had Rajesh Khanna, Rekha, Raj Babbar, Madan Puri, Asrani, Baby Shabana, Sudhir Dalvi, Yunus Parwez, Sundar, Dulaari, Ranveer Raj, Rekha Parmar, Zubeida (II), Sunil Dhawan etc. Gulshan Bawra and Sami Malik had made friendly appearances in the movie.

“Kaash” (1987) was produced by Anwar Ali & F.K. Rattonsey & directed by Mahesh Bhatt. Dimple Kapadia- Jackie Shroff- Master Makrand Joshi formed the main cast, with Anupam Kher playing a character that was important for the story viz. he played the third angle of the love triangle; of course Jackie & Dimple were the other two angles. Akash Khurana, Dalip Tahil, Mehmood, Mukri, R.S. Chopra, Kamal Chopra, Avtar Gill, Satish Kaushik, Vikas Anand, Subbiraj, Raju Kher all had small important parts to play; tagged as either special or guest appearance in the titles of the film.
