Today 13th April 2019 marks one hundred years of the most barbaric massacre of people under the British rule in India. On this day every year we also celebrate ‘Baisakhi’ all over India.
It was hundred years ago on 13th April 1919 that people gathered on the occasion of ‘Baisakhi’ at the ‘Jallianwala Bagh’ in Amritsar were fired upon ruthlessly by ‘bullets’ from the British Police and hundreds of them were killed brutally and many hundreds were injured.

The song with this post is a visual treat. It is a fun song. It is a song where-in the dancer/ artist is a choreographer’s delight. She follows all instructions and executes them fabulously. It is also a comic delight, the facial expression etc. It is from a 1987 movie which hitherto has only one song representing it on the blog. That song was posted on march 28th 2013 and was a contribution by Guruji alias encyclopaedia of the blog. .

Exactly a year ago I had written out the lyrics for a song from “Uljhan” . The post to that was done by our Sudhirji. I am hundred percent sure that I couldn’t have done such a good post. In there he had mentioned that is was 29 years since Harihar Jethalal Zariwaala aka Sanjeev Kumar aka Hari Bhai left us. How soon one year has passed and it is now the 30th anniversary of this “switch on, switch off actor”. (I have borrowed this term from Sudhirji’s write up.)

Raksha bandhan comes in the festive month of Shravan. This year it is on 29th August 2015. Wishing all a very Happy Raksha Bandhan.
This is the eighth time we are celebrating it on our blog. Does that mean we have run out of Raksha Bandhan songs to be posted? Actually if we take a look at the list on the right side of our blog –the list which breaks up the blog category wise— we find 21 Rakhi songs have been posted beginning with the all-time universal favourite “Bhaiyya Mere Rakhi Ke Bandhan Ko Nibhana” from the 1959 “Chhoti Behan”. The last song in this category was in 2013 by Sudhirji “pardesi ho humse rakhiya bandha” from a 1944 movie.

Raag Maalikaa in Hindi Films – 14
======================
The streets of cities and town all around India looked deserted, when from 25 January 1987 to 31 July 1988, “Mangal Bhavan Amangalhaarri” was heard on Doordarshan TV, The title of the famous Serial ‘Ramayana’.
