Today’s song is the final song from the movie ‘Bekaraar-1983’. I had come across this song for the first time more than a year back when I had listened to it during my daily commute to my workplace at Vadodara. I liked this philosophical song for its lyrics as well as the composition. It was thanks to this song that I looked at the other songs of this movie ‘Bekaraar-1983’. That is how I became aware of the songs of this movie, therwise I was only aware of the title song ‘bekaraar bekaraar bekaraar kiyaa’ of this movie. So far, I have presented four songs out of the five songs of this movie that have been covered on this blog.
‘Bekaraar-1983’ was directed by V.B. Rajendra Prasad for ‘Jagpati Art Pictures, Madras’. V.B. Rajendra Prasad was also the producer for this movie and he also wrote the screenplay of this movie. This movie was passed by the Censor Board on 01.08.1983. The cast of this movie has Ashok Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Mohnish Behl, Padmini Kolhapure, Supriya Pathak, Om Shivpuri, Satyen Kappu, Asrani, Mohan Choti, Tez Sapru, Chand Usmani, Poornima, Dulari, Seema, and Yasmeen Khan, Sangeeta Behl, Tulsi Devi, Kirti Singh, Aslam Farshauri, Manmood Khan, Master Manoj, Master Dambu and others.

‘Shaarda’ (1981) was produced by K K Talwar and was directed by Lekh Tandon. The cast included Jeetendra, Rameshwari, Usha Kiran, Om Prakash, Deena Pathak, Kalpana Iyer, Madan Puri, Jagdeep, Iftekhar, Pinchoo Kapoor etc. Sarika and Raj Babbar made guest appearances. The story of the film seems to be partly inspired from a Hollywood film, ‘How To Murder Your Wife’ (1965). While the Hollywood film was a black comedy, Lekh Tandon converted his Hindi film into a family drama. The shooting of the film started in 1978. The film got released on April 10, 1981.

‘Khuda Kasam’ (1981) was produced by Baldev Pushkarna and was directed by Lekh Tandon who also wrote the story. The cast included Vinod Khanna, Tina Munim, Ajit, Pran, Nazneen, Zahira, Kamini Kaushal, Madan Puri, Jalal Agha, Surendra Pal, Shakti Kapoor, Chandrashekhar, C S Dubey, Pinchoo Kapoor, Ram Mohan, Brahm Bhardwaj, Leena Das, Ranbir Raj, Ratna, Colonel Kapoor etc. Dharmendra made a special appearance. The film was delayed as Vinod Khanna had temporarily shifted to the USA to work in the ashram of his spiritual guru, Osho. He did return to India to complete his films before moving back to the ashram in the USA in 1982.

21st December is the birthday of an actor who made his debut in films in 1986. Though the first film he signed was ‘Tan Badan’, first film for which he started shooting was ‘Love 86’ in June of 1985. ‘Ilzaam’ (release date 28th February 1986) & ‘Love 86’ (release date 14th February 1986) released before his firstsigned ‘Tan Badan’ (release date 25th April 1986).
He was born as the youngest of 5 children and was given the pet name ‘Chi-Chi’ (meaning little finger). His father was former actor Aroon (alias Arun Kumar Ahuja) and singer-actress Nirmala Devi was his mother. He belongs to an ethnically mixed family, as, through his father, his grandfather was Punjabi while his grandmother was Sindhi, but he himself identifies more with his Punjabi side. His paternal side ancestry can be traced to Gujranwala in undivided India & his maternal side had its roots in Varanasi, U.P.
