Here is yet another Rafi-Shammi Kapoor song which is sung and picturised with the same passion which we have come to associate with such songs. Hasrat Jaipuri is the lyricist and Shankar Jaikishan are the music director, as was the case in majority of such songs.

I have heard this song “jab bhi ye dil udaas hota hai” quite a few times in the past and I have liked it too. It is an ideal song when you feel sad, as the song says.

Raj Kapoor was one such movie maker who paid heavily for overestimating the calibre of his audience. His ambitious labour of love “Mera Naam Joker” fell flat at the box office.
