This “social” movie, which was a kind of movie that would be described as “art” movie in 1970s, had Shambhu Mitra, Usha Dutt, Balraj Sahni, Damyanti Sahni, Anwar Mirza, Tripti Bhaduri, Mahendra nath, Vishwamitra Adil, Snehprabha, David, K N Singh etc in it.

Today (31 january 2017) is the 13th death anniversary of Suraiyya (15 June 1929 – 31 January 2004). Regulars of this blog are aware that almost all available songs of Suraiyya have already been discussed in the blog. We are now scraping the bottom of the barrel as far as remaining Suraiyya songs are concerned. The remaining Suraiyya songs are rare and obscure songs and we have decided to discuss them only on the occasions of Suraiyya’s anniversaries, at the rate on one song per anniversary. That way, we may still have songs to take care of next three or four years at least.

I am not one who can sit through a Hindi movie for its full duration now a days. Moreover, I cannot even bear to watch most new movies. There are exceptions of course. For instance, I liked “Lage Raho Munna Bhai”, “PK”, etc. I in fact have discussed a few songs from these movies in the blog as well, where I mentioned that I liked these movies.
