Taking this unusual theme, a bunch of new film makers took upon themselves of making a film, ‘Asambhava’ (1985). I came to know about this film very recently when I stumbled upon the abovementioned song from the film. Fortunately, the film is available for viewing on one of the video sharing platforms.

While going through the filmography of the music director, Vanraj Bhatia recently, I found that he had done the music composition mostly for the off-beat or ‘middle of the road’ films, including those of Shyam Benegal’s films. Among his Bollywood masala films which are few, ‘Surkhiyaan’ (1985) was one of them which came as surprise to me because a couple of songs from the film which I had heard long back, sounded to me like that of R D Burman. The title of the film gave the hint that the story may have something to do with print media. With Naseeruddin Shah as a lead actor, I thought that the script of the film would be good for him to agree to work in the film. I watched the film a couple of days back on this assumption.
