The film “Baghaawat” (1982) must be a typical Sultan Ahmed film. It is easy to guess this much from this one song only which I knew from the days it was a new and popular song and played regularly on Radio. I have seen this song also earlier maybe on T.V. because I hav’nt seen this film. A few days back, maybe weeks,
one similar situation song was posted on the blog, which brought this song to mind. I searched and found the link, and been wanting to discuss this song since then.

Directed by Raj Khosla, Main Tulsi Tere Aangan Ki (1978) was a Nutan-Vijay Anand-Asha Parekh starrer with the last named being the “Tulsi” of the plot. It’s also known for Lataji’s evergreen title song Main tulsi tere aangan ki – which is already on this Blog.

Chandi Sona (1977), as the name points out at, is a film about treasure hunt on an island. Most probably a desi version of a Hollywood film. Sanjay Khan in his independent ventures favoured R D Burman. Even in this film it is Pancham, who gives the music.

“Har Har Mahadev” (1950) was produced and directed by Jayant Desai. the movie had Trilok Kapoor and Nirupa Roy in lead roles with Misra, Durga Khote, Shanta Kanwar, Jeevan, Niranjan Sharma, Vicky Kapoor etc also there in the movie.

Pati Patni (1966) was R D Burman’s fifth released film, after his debut in Chhote Nawab (1961). Most probably his close friend Mehmood procured this project for him as well.

“Gumnaam” (1965) was based on Agatha Christie’s suspense novel “And then there were none”. And it must be said that this Hindi movie version added its own flavour to the story tailormade for its target audience. I am not sure that the original novel had a butler quite like Mehmood, for instance.
