Today 19th of July 2022 we celebrate the birthday of this blog. Regulars on the blog are aware that this blog was started on 19th of July 2008. So, today the blog celebrates its’ fifteenth birthday.
Normally on this occasion we enjoy birthday songs, ‘saalgirah’ songs, ‘party’ songs, or sometimes ‘bringing memories back’ songs or songs that are filled with ‘nostalgia’ as I have shared them earlier on the birthday of the blog.
But, today, I am approaching this post differently and I will not repeat what I have earlier said about the blog and my love for this blog and how this blog has become a part of my life since I become associated with it.

Hullo Atuldom
19th July- our blog turns an year older. I have been writing for the occasion for a few years now. (Think the habit set-in in 2015 or 2016). But I seem to have missed writing a post in 2021. Here is my post from 2020. Whatever I have said in that post still holds true for me.
I am still thankful that I discovered the blog and thankful that Atulji gave us this platform where novices like me have a place to post our thoughts. Thankful that Atulsongaday gave me a new set of HFM loving friends who have a wealth of information which has enriched us. There are some among the regulars who I have met a few times and some whom I have never met – Atulji included. Let us hope we have a grand party where all Atulites and Satulites congregate. As Rajaji has said in the comments to my post (on 19th July 2020), and I quote “We all might have got onto this journey at different stations but it has been a wonderful journey, with lots of memories and shared experiences.”

HEARTIEST CONGRATULATIONS to atulsongaday.me for completing 14 successful years. By the time the Blog entered its ‘Teens’, it was already a famous and well known centre for rare songs with lyrics and credible information on the song, MD, Lyricists,the cast of that film and the related matters. Today it can proudly boast of being “The Point Of Reference” for dependable anecdotes, confirmations and detailed bios of less known/unknown old film artistes. The credit for all this goes to just one man, who single handedly managed and made this Blog a well known name in Cyberspace. It is our dear leader ATUL ji. Atul ji,thanks for making this Blog available for showcasing our information-wares to the world.

Today’s song is from a stunt film Ji Haan aka Yes please – 1945.
This film was made under the banner of Gautam Chitra, Bombay. It was directed by a pair of Babubhai Mistry and Ramnik Bhatt. All the 8 songs were written by Pt. Indra and the music was by S.N.Tripathi…who was initially for stunt films and later was famous for Mythological movies. The cast consisted of Agha, Bhagwan,Shanta Patel, Meera, Gulab, Raziya,Azeembhai, Anant Prabhu etc etc.

Today’s song is from an obscure film Giribala-1947.
This is one of those films, whose story and almost the whole crew came from Bengal. In the past also we have many such films.Right from the Silent films era, Calcutta has been making films and showing them in important markets. After the advent of Talkie films in 1931 itself, out of the 24 films that were released that year, as many as 7 films were made by Madan Theatres, Calcutta alone ! The rest 17 were made by different studios in Bombay. Surprisingly, there was no movie from New Theatres, Calcutta in Hindi, in the first year of Talkie films,i.e. 1931. Their first Hindi Talkie film ” Mohabbat ke aansoo” came only in 1932, but it was such a great flop that it probably did not cross Calcutta’s borders even !

Today’s song is a Non Film Song (NFS), sung by Jagmohan Bakshi.
In the field of NFS (Non-Film Song), most people know about Jagmohan Sursagar but very few would know about Jagmohan Bakshi. At Least I have come across only this NFS song by Bakshi so far and that too thanks to record collector Zafar Bhai who has uploaded this song. Music lovers, by now, know Zafar Bhai as one who has been uploading some rare songs from obscure and famous films, as well as a few NFS too. We, in ASAD, know him as a friend of our friend Sudhir ji.
