“Oonche log” (1965), not to be confused with “Oonche log” (1985) was an interesting movie which had no role for females. The supposed leading lady of the movie hardly had any role or dialogues in the movie. I cannot understand the reason behind such misogyny on the part of the makers of this movie.

This movie “Mahbooba” had a story of reincarnation and a haunting haveli. The music of R D Burman created just the right atmosphere for this movie in songs after songs.

Mujhe yaad karne waale

I had never heard this song. When I listened to it for the first time yesterday, I almost felt like I was listening to a haunting song from “Mera Saaya” or “Woh Kaun Thi”. This song is indeed a Lata-Madan Mohan masterclass, but it is not from the aforementioned movies. This song is from a movie called “Rishte Naate” and as it happened so often in movies with Madan Mohan as the music director, this movie failed at the box office.
