Searching on internet YouTube, I came across this Rafi’s 1969 ‘Sapna’ song for my ‘Genius of Jaidev’ series. According to HFGK this Rafi’s song is also sung by Krishna Kalle with some minor variations in lyrics for the same film. What can be better, as suggested by seniors of ASAD, than presenting two songs in one posting today, to remember Jaidevji, who took permanent ‘nirvaan’ on this day, the 6th January, 28 years ago!

However, this person was instrumental, and played a most significant role in recognizing the talent of this child, and endeavored to provide him opportunities for listening to and learning from some of the greatest masters of that time. The name is Hamid and he was the elder brother to Mohammed Rafi.

Searching through the obscure and the unheard, we continue to encounter such fabulous creations that bring a gasp of pleasant surprise. Today, in the second installment of this new series of songs by Rafi Sb, I bring this exuberant song of ‘chhed chhaad’ from an unreleased film from the 1960s. The film is ‘Jaan Bachi Laakhon Paaye’. We have one song from this film already posted a little over one year ago – “Teri Zulf Mein Chun Ke Champa Ki Kaliyan”, another delightful creation, in the voice of Mahendra Kapoor and Sharda.
