Creating myths and perpetuating them is easy when the myth sounds plausible. One of the biggest myths surrounding “na kisi ki aankh ka noor hoon” is that it was written by the last Moghul Bahadurshah Zafar. Most people, including me, believed this myth. But I have come to know that this myth created is not true.

Kishore Kumar worked with Laxmikant Pyarelal for the first time in 1965 in a movie called “Hum Sab Ustaad Hain”. The movie itself is no longer remembered by anyone, but what music this movie had !

Sonik and Omi who were mama and bhanja acted as assistants to quite a few music directors viz Madan Mohan etc. It was in late 1960s that they started out as independent music directors.

Lata gave some haunting songs in 1960s under the music direction of Madan Mohan. During that time two major music directors of the day, viz O P Nayyar and S D Burman were creating their music without Lata.
