“Chitralekha” (1941) was based on a 1934 novel of the same name penned by Bhagwati Charan Verma. Kidar Sharma was the producer and director of this movie. According to information contained in YT, The movie had Mehtab in the title role of Chitralekha. Other leading actors in the movie were Nandrekar (as Samant Bijgupt), A.S.
