Though I subscribe to three newspapers daily, I rarely go through much of their contents and the newspapers finally end up with the “raddiwala” after a few months. This is a gem of a song. And still this song is not known to too many people. By now I am no longer surprised or shocked by this fact that many great songs of yesteryears have been allowed to be lost to oblivion. Hindi suspense movies had one thing that was missing in Western suspense movies, viz songs. 😀 And seeing what great musical talents Hindi movies had at that disposal, music lovers have been left with a rich legacy of great songs from such movies.

There are several ways in which I come across musical gems. Arbitrarily clicking away at various youtube clips is one such way. But another, and far more effective way is to go through the farmaishes of readers on the farmaish page, and look for those songs. That is what I am consciously doing these days, and it has been a highly rewarding experience.
