So far, I have been presenting qawwaalis from the decade of seventies on the blog. For a change today, I am presenting this one from the decade of sixties. In fact, today’s song was lying with me since long and Initially I sent only the audio of this song (the only vailable version at that time). But now the movie as well as the video of this songs has become available online.

I call this a special film, because of an interesting reason. The reason is that this is one of those rare films, where most of the actors, Director, music Director, all 3 lyricists, singers, producer, the banner, the screenplay writer, the dialogue writer and even the financer were all “ONE TIME” members. They had no previous experience earlier and after this film, they did not work in any other film.

Hullo Atuldom

“Pyaar Hi Pyaar” – release date 17th October 1969- was directed by Bhappie Sonie and produced by Rajaram & Satish Wagle. It had music by Shankar-Jaikishan & Hasrat Jaipuri wrote most of the songs. Rajinder Krishan is credited with one song. The movie had a cast of Vyjayanthimala, Dharmendra, Manmohan, Mehmood, Helen, Dhumal, Madan Puri, D.K. Sapru, Sulochana -Latkar & Chatterjee, Raj Mehra AND PRAN. Plus there were some character artists who are familiar faces to all Hindi movie fans- like the rotund Moolchand, Robert (the Goan dancer who was a prominent face in dance numbers till 1989), even Shatrughan Sinha and Salim Khan (who later formed a duo with Javed Akhtar) were there in small roles.
