I have posted quite a few songs in which two characters, mostly bit actors would sing a song ( often a philosophical song), and a crowd would gather around them to watch their poerformance. After the song, some people in the crowd would part with some small change as a token of their appreciation.

In mainstream Bollywood movies, there are two standard fares. One is songs, and the other is fights.
I have always wondered why Bollywood movie makers cannot combine the two, and why cannot we have songs and fights simultaneously.

As qawwalis go, this qawwali was hugely popular in 1970s. In fact, if this movie “Dharma” (1973) is still remembered, it is solely because of this qawwali.

Whenever someone talks of ‘Prem Parbat”, I am reminded of the song “Ye dil aur unki nigaahon ke saaye”. In fact, this movie and this song are almost synonymous for many people, including me.
