It is my recent resolution to post as many Sajjad Hussain songs as I can find. Considering that Sajjad Hussain composed approximately one hundred songs and I have so far discussed 19 songs composed by Sajjad Hussain, it should take me nearly three months to cover the remaining Sajjad Hussain songs not yet discussed. In other words, I hope to cover all the Sajjad Hussain compositions by the time this year 2010 comes to a close. That would be a nice little achievement for this blog to have all Sajjad Hussain songs in one place.

When I was a kid, I obviously loved to play with toys. One toy that I loved was the one that had a round object attached to an elastic string. You held one end of the strings to your hand and threw the round object away, which would come back to your palm again. This back and forth motion of the object where the object, despite being thrown away always came back to you, like a bad coin or an obedient dog, was a source of great amusement to kids like me.

There have been two movies called “Sagaai” that I am aware of. The 1951 movie by this name had Premnath, Rehana, Yaaqoob, Gope, VijayLaxmi, Heeralal, Cuckoo etc in lead roles, where as the 1966 movie had Vishwajeet, Rajshree, Rehman, Prem Chopra, Asit Sen, Durga Khote etc in lead roles.

We are all familar with the names of music directors whose names figure in the credits of a movie. Sometimes, when one looks closely, one may be able to have a glimpse of the Assistant music director. When I look at the credits of a Hindi movie, I especially look for the screen showing the list of assistants and sometimes I manage to read the name.
