# Bhoole-Bisre Geet # 61 # Movies with same titles ‘Haar Jeet’
———————————————–—————————————–

Recently our dear Kamath Saab shared the song ‘Mast Pawan Shaakhen Lehraayen’ from the 1940 movie ‘Haar Jeet’. And seeing that post I immediately recalled sharing one song from the film having the same title – ‘Haar Jeet’ and released in 1972. I thought that a song from this ‘Haar Jeet’ (1972) was already posted on the blog. Or maybe it was discussed in some post or mentioned in comments on the blog.

Piya Tune Kya Kiya Re, Tere Bin Laage Na Jiya” – this post in 2008 by Atul ji inspired me to sit through an otherwise serious (read boring) movie. In the post Atul ji had written 3 postscripts each after different stages of movie watching and getting more gyaan about the movie. There is nothing more to add about the movie if one reads that particular post.

Rare Gems – Laxmikant Pyarelal
————————————
Being a fellow contributor to the ASAD blog, one is privy to being in the WhatsApp group, which while reading through the posts sometime back I came across my name and I was surprised. Atul Ji, the creator of ASAD had mentioned that my name had come up as the one with the longest absence from the group, with my last post more than two years ago.

It’s true and I would like to sincerely apologise to one and all about this. It can be attributed to many reasons including work etc, but it was never the lack of interest. My love for HFM and listening to it (and that too rare songs) is what gives me the maximum pleasure and acts as a real pain killer and a soother of sorts.

I have been meaning to post this song from almost immediately after my last post here. It is as rare as songs can go and would fit in to any programs broadcasted by SLBC (Radio Ceylon for us old timers) like Bhoole Bisre Geet or Jaane Pehchane Geet, etc

When one looks at it, R D Burman, Rajesh Khanna, and Kishore Kumar rose to the top, taking the film world by storm almost simultaneously. In many of these movies, the three in fact worked together as well.

But their careers diverged as far as staying at the top was concerned. While Kishore Kumar remained at the top throughout his life, Rajesh Khanna’s superstardom deserted him by the mid 1970s. R D Burman continued to rule throughout 1970s, before he found himself upstaged, not by better music, but by music of the nature that testified to the fact that the saying “if you cannot dazzle them by brilliance, baffle them by bulshitting” applied to HFM after 1980s. R D Burman could not cope with that kind of music that became the vogue after 1980s and he slowly began to lose ground and assignments, before finding a late second wind with “1942 a Love Story”(1994) which came a bit too late for him as he had already expired by the time music of this movie began to make waves.
