“Champaakali” (1957) is a movie starring Bharat Bhushan, Suchitra Sen, Shubha Khote etc. This movie is known for some Hemant Kumar songs including the well known song Chhup gaya koyi re door se pukaar ke. I have in fact discussed as many as three songs from this movie in the past.

The 1975 blockbuster movie “Sholay” needs no introduction, but few people are aware that a movie of the same name was also made in 1953. This movie “Shole” (1953) had Ashok Kumar ,Beena Rai ,Poornima ,Manmohan Krishna ,Jeewan ,Mirza Musharraf,Baby Naaz etc in it.

My readers may have noticed that my posts for the last few days have dried up. It is because these days I find myself without internet connectivity because I find myself elsewhere for a few days. “Naya Sansaar” (1959) is quite an obscure movie. Few people seem to be aware of any details about the cast of this movie. This appears to be a B grade movie that failed at the box office.

“Ferry” (1954) also titled as “Kishti” (1954) is a movie that had Dev Anand and Geeta Bali in lead roles. I have the VCD of this movie lying around with me , but I never bothered to watch the movie. I have just watched a few songs from this movie, and I think that I may yet get persuaded to watch the movie, if only for the songs.

I have heard of a movie called “Taangaawaala” of 1970s, but I was not aware that there was a movie called “Taangaawaali” too, which in fact came some two decades prior to “Taangaawaala”. In any case, I have not discussed any songs from either movie in this blog so far.
