If one creates one or two masterpiece songs in a movie that I suppose the creators of such songs in that movie could be justified in taking it easy while creating the remaining songs. But that is not how they worked in the (G)olden days. The created one gem after another in the same movie, as if this was the last movie of their careers. And they continued it for their other movies as well for their entire careers that lasted a few decades. and then there were many others who worked in the same way. No wonder we are left with a huge body of quality music that we can keep exploring for decades, without being able to exhaust it.

When a small kid has to be put to sleep, the mother sings him/her a soothing lullaby. It is not just that only small kids appreciate lullabies. Grownups are just as receptive to them. So I see no reason why a female should not sing lullabies to her husband/lover in case he too is required to be put to sleep.

Prior to this movie, “Heer Ranjha” (1948) -the fourth movie with this title, was the most well known movie of this name.

My readers may have noticed my absence from the blog for the last few days. The reason was I was travelling for much of the time in the last few days and I was unable to get hold of internet. At the end of all this journey, now I have ended up at a place where things that I took for granted are a luxury. Electricity itself comes and goes quite frequently here and the less said about internet connectivity, the better. Wireless modem, which works in small towns elsewhere does not work here. Still, I have managed to rig myself an internet connection. The catch is, it works only if there is electicity. I will try and get myself active on the blog again, electicity permitting.
