In most cases, the reel life that actors essayed on screen had little resemblance with their real lives. But in some cases, viz for Guru Dutt and Meena Kumari, their real lives followed their reel lives. Both of them played melancholic roles towards the later half of their careers, and their real lives proved to be no different. In fact, they both had tragic melancholic ends to their lives.

“Aarti” (1962) had some wonderful songs, and I am posting these songs now a days. This second song begins somewhat similarly to the other song. In the first song “Kahbhi to milegi”, Meena Kumari listens to a song on Radio, and then sings that song.

I may not be the only person to note that majority of songs in Bollywood are about love. In these songs, the lead actors would fall in love and then sing love songs.
