#the Decade of Seventies – 1971 – 1980 #
————————————————————————
# Bhoole-Bisre Geet # (Yippeeee to Noorie-1979)
——————————————-——————————

(Birthday Wishes- Padma Khanna)

Today we say ‘Yippeeee to ‘Noorie-1979’!!!

This movie had made its debut on the blog on 05.05.2013 and just before couple of month of its ‘completion of ten-years on the blog’ this movie is going to cover all its songs on the blog today.

Today 10th March’2023 is also the birthday of Padma Khanna who was born on this day in 1949. She turned seventy-four today and enter seventy-fifth year of her age today.
On this occasion we wish her a ‘very happy birthday and a healthy and peaceful life ahead in the future.

Padma Khanna has acted in many Hindi as well as Bhojpuri movies. For us the ‘fans of seventies’ she was very much there in the movies of ‘seventies’ mainly performing roles as a ‘dancer’.

Later on she becomes well-known for her role as ‘Kaikeyi’ in the Ramand Sagar’s epic TV Serial – ‘Ramayana’.

Today we are going to listen to and watch a song where in Padma Khanna is performing a ‘mujra dance’.

As mentioned above today’s song is from the movie ‘Noorie’.

“Noorie-1979” was directed by Manmohan Krishna for ‘Yashraj Films’.

It had Farookh Shaikh, Poonam Dhillon, Madan Puri, Iftekhar, Manmohan Krishna, Padma Khanna, Geeta Siddharth, Javed Khan, Bharat Kapoor, Vikas Anand, Khairu (Dog, Trained by Amar Babu), Pardesi, Shakeel, Mahan, Master Devendra, Avtar Gill, Murari, Ramesh Yadav, Tiger (Dog) and others.

“Noorie-1979” had five songs. Three were written by Jaanisar Akhtar and one each by Majrooh Sultanpuri and Naqsh Lyallpuri.

Music for this movie was composed by Khayyam.

I have not watched this movie till now however I like its songs very much. Its’ song ‘Aa ja re o mere dilbar aaja’ stood at second place in the ‘annual hits of Binaca Geetmala of 1979’ and its’ other song ‘chori chori koyi aaye’ came at number twenty-three in the annual hits of Binaca Geetmala of 1980’.

I was not very much aware about the story-line of this movie until this post but now I know that it was ‘a beautiful love story having good music and picturised on scenic locations, but having a ‘tragic’ end’.

However the songs of this movie, especially the two songs mentioned above, were very popular and they were frequently heard on radio in those days and even now …

Detail of the songs from this movie with their status on the blog is given below.

SNo Song Title Singer/s Posted On
01 Aa ja re o mere dilbar aa ja Lata, Nitin Mukesh 05.05.2013
02 Kasam hai yaar teri…ki aashiq ho to aisa ho Mahendra Kapoor, Jagjit Kaur, Pamela Chopra, S.K. Mahan, chorus 21.08.2021
03 Pyaase hain zulfon ke saaye Asha Bhonsle
04 Chori chori koyi aaye Lata Mangeshkar 19.08.2014
05 Uske khel niraale wo hi jaane, allaah jaane ae Anwar, Jagjit Kaur, Pamela Chopra 05.02.2023

As mentioned above four songs from this movie have been posted on the blog earlier.

Today’s song is the fifth and final song from this movie to be presented on the blog.

It is sung by Asha Bhonsle and on screen it is Padma Khanna performing on this song. Also seen in the picturisation of this song are Bharat Kapoor, Javed Khan and others.

Lyrics of the song are by Naqsh Lyallpuri and music is composed by Khayyam.

HFGK Vol-V (1971-1980) mentions different starting line for this song which are not available in the audio or it may have been got deleted from the video/audio I guess.

We once again wish a ‘Happy Birthday to Padma Khanna’ and listen to this song…

And ‘YIPPEEEE’ to ‘Noorie-1979’ 🙂

Today’s song is from the film Choron ki Baraat-1960. This is a very rare song from a film, which is making its Debut on the Blog with this song. There was another film having the same title ,in 1980 also. 26 film titles started with the word Chor…, from 1931 to 2012.

produced by Charanjeet, under the banner of K Pictures, Bombay, the film was directed by Pradeep nayyar and the Music Director was Manohar (Arora), whose assistants for this film were Sonik-Omi, who themselves became a reasonably successful MD pair with the film ” Dil ne phir yaad kiya”-1966. The cast of the film was Amarnath (Bharadwaj), Nazi, Shaikh, Nemo, Shakeela Bano Bhopali, Gulab, Jeevankala, Ram Mohan and many others.

Film Choron ki barat-60 was a story about a hidden treasure and different people who are after getting it and how they try to outsmart others. It is a strange coincidence that in this film, there are artistes who, in their real life, were fit to be in a Choron ki baraat. What I mean to say is that, one Lyricist and one singer from this film cheated the film industry, the audience and the common people by hiding certain facts. Not only these two, but some other famous actors, actresses, singers etc, have hidden their career matters from others – mind you, not inadvertently but intentionally ! I am providing details of some such cases here for your information.

There were 5 Lyricists for 6 songs of this film. One of them was “Gulzar Deenvi”, who was known as ‘ Gulzar’ – the famous poet, director , singer and actor in later days. One of the singers of this film was Mahendra Kapoor. These two are the culprits, who tried to hide and cheat everyone in not admitting honestly how they entered the filmline. Now read this –

Gulzar’s first song was not from Bandini – 63, as is always claimed by him, in every interview. He has written lyrics in films Choron ki Baraat-60, Diler Haseena-60 and Shriman Satyawadi-60. He wrote these songs as Gulzar Deenvi. But he also wrote lyrics in the film Kabuliwala-61 and Prempatra-62 in the name of Gulzar. Even then he claims Bandini-63 as his first film- which is wrong. There is enough proof that Gulzar Deenvi and Gulzar is the same person.

Born January 9, 1934, in Amritsar, Mahendra Kapoor spent the majority of his childhood in Mumbai, where he claimed top honors in the All-India Murphy-Metro Singing competition – 57, for Newcomers. His victory captured the attention of filmmaker Raja Nawathe, who used him in 1958’s Sohni Mahiwal. This also caused a controversy, because the contest was for new comers and Mahendra Kapoor had already sung songs in several films like Madmast-53, Madhur milan-55 Lalkar-56 and Heer-56 and also his first solo song in film Diwali ki raat-56. Later on he gave some lame excuse that he had not got any payment for that song etc etc.

Mala Sinha came from Calcutta to make a career in Bombay films. In Calcutta she worked in a Bilingual film ‘Chitrangadha-54’ in Bangla and Hindi. In 54 again, she did her first film in Bombay, Badshah-54, then came Hamlet-54, Riyasat-55 and Ekadashi-55. In all her interviews, Mala Sinha always quoted “Rangeen Raten”-56 with Shammi Kapoor as her first film in Bombay. She was ashamed of revealing that in film Riyasat-55, her Hero was Mahipal and in film Ekadashi the Hero was Trilok Kapoor. She always hid this fact. There are many Heroines who want to hide their struggling days. For example,in film “Professor”-62 Shammi Kapoor’s Heroine was Kalpana. Though touted as her first film, her first film was Pyar ki Jeet-62, opposite Mahipal- a fact which Kalpana always hid from everyone.

Similarly, A grade Heroine Meena Kumari also had done several Mythological and costume films before Baiju Bawra took her high up and above other Heroines. Filmslike Veer Ghatotkach-49, Shri Ganesh Mahima-50, Laxmi Narayan-51, Hanuman Paataal vijay-51 and Alladin aur Jadui Chirag-52 had Mahipal as her Hero. In her later years, she always hid her earlier film Heroes. Even comedian Johnny Walker, who is supposed to have made a beginning with Baazi-51, had earlier worked in “The last message or Aakhri paigham”-49. A C grade film. However this fact is not told by anyone.

Not only actors, but even singers do this. They hesitate to say that they first sang for C grade films. Take the case of Sudha Malhotra, who used to declare Arzoo-50 as her first film, under Anil Biswas, but she never told that earlier she had sung 3 songs in film Aakhri paigham-49, under the baton of Abid Hussein Khan, a less known composer.

It is very unfortunate that once the artiste becomes famous, he tends to forget his humble beginning with a less known film or a composer. This is because they are ashamed of it. Shri Girdharilal Vishwakarma ji,famous collector and a film Historian, rues that they do so. He feels the blame also goes to people who take their interview, because the interview taker does not do proper homework. Many times they do not know anything and simply listen to whatever is told by the artiste.

One of the names in the cast of this film is NEMO. Hardly any reader would remember this name, but he was a major actor in the Hindi films of New Theatres, Calcutta and some films of Raj Kapoor in Bombay. Incidentally, the film Choron ki Baraat-1960 was his last film in which he had acted, though in a small role. The film was released just 10 days after Nemo died in Bombay. Here is his Bio-data….

Mirza Muhammad Begg was born on 27th december 1903 at Calcutta. He passed his Senior Cambridge. One day he, along with some friends, visited New Theatres to see a film shooting. Mirza Muhammad Begg merely wanted to watch the shooting of ‘Yahoodi Ki Larki’ (1933) but, as luck would have it, his visit to the New Theatres studio in Calcutta led to a small role in the same film. The part was that of a Roman king and little did Begg know back then that he’d soon be turning to Latin to fish out a lasting identity.

A year later, he was invited by New Theatres’ founder B.N. Sircar to work as the production manager of ‘Karwan-e-Hayat’ (1935) and another chance role beckoned. A female actor who was supposed to play an old witch in the film failed to turn up for the shooting and Begg volunteered for the part. The make-up department stepped up to the challenge and Begg, unrecognisable in the get-up, did the job (and always considered it his best effort). What happened next is even more interesting. Once the film was ready, the makers felt apprehensive about revealing to the public that a man had played the witch’s role. Begg came up with a solution – a gender-ambiguous screen name for himself. And in a delightfully wacky move, he picked a name that means ‘nobody/nothing’ in Latin – ‘Nemo’.

The name stuck on and this was the beginning of Nemo’s steadfast association with New Theatres – one that resulted in a string of features like ‘Karodpati’, ‘Dushman’, ‘Doctor’ and ‘Zindagi’. He was Vidushak, the royal jester, in ‘Vidyapati’, a rigid but caring father in ‘Jawani Ki Reet’ and the devoted caretaker Dharamdas in P.C. Barua’s ‘Devdas’. These diverse characters earned him appreciation from audiences and critics alike. Further, the story of the Saigal hit ‘The President’ (1937) was based on his idea and he was duly credited for the same. Alongside his work in films, he also edited and published ‘Akkas’ – a very popular Urdu (and later, Urdu-English bilingual) film magazine in those days. Its surviving copies now serve as an important archive of the early talkies. His last film with New Theatres was Kashinath. When Calcutta was bombed by Japan in late 1942, Nemo migrated with his family to his ancestral hometown, Lucknow. He later went over to Bombay for a short while to work in Mazhar Khan’s ‘Pehli Nazar’ (1945), and then returned to Lucknow to settle into a life far removed from the studio lights.

In the middle of it all lies an extraordinary fact – at the time he entered the movies, M.M. Begg was a national billiards champion! He won the inaugural Indian Open Billiards Championship in 1931 and never left the game thereon, despite a busy and flourishing film career. He won the trophy again in 1937, and between the 2 wins, he was the runner-up thrice. Not to mention, he represented the country at international tournaments and also headed various administrative organisations related to the game. His contributions towards establishing and popularising billiards and snooker in India are widely mentioned, and always in glowing terms. He was also obsessed with Racing.

It was nearly a decade after ‘Pehli Nazar’ that Raj Kapoor managed to pull Nemo out of his sabbatical for 2 memorable final acts in ‘Shree 420’ and ‘Jagte Raho’. In both, Nemo played similar roles of manipulative, corrupt seths who hide their sinister designs behind a facade of respectability. If he was jittery about facing the camera after a long gap, it doesn’t show (unless Seth Sonachand’s trembling chin is not a mannerism ). He was particularly effective in ‘Shree 420’, where he puts on the most evil smile possible and hisses to Raj Kapoor, “Aap se mulaqaat ho gayi, is mein fayda hi fayda hai.” He also did 3 more films- Raja Vikram-57 and Nag Champa-58 and Choron ki Baraat-60.

Nemo worked for 19 films of New Theatres and 6 others, totalling 25 films in all. His Filmography – Yahudi ki ladki-33, Karwaan E Hayat-35, Devdas-35, Karodpati-36, Manzil-36, Vidyapati-37, Anath Ashram-37, President-37, Dushman-38, Dharati Mata-38, Abhagin-38, Jawani ki reet-39, Badi Didi-39, Zindagi-40, Haar Jeet-40, Doctor-40, Aandhi-40, Lagan-41, Saugandh-42, Paheli Nazar-45, Shri 420-55, Jaagte Raho-56, Raja Vikram-57, Nag Champa-58 and Choron ki Barat-1960

It is believed that he died in Bombay on 18-8-1960. Cinema, publishing, sports – Mirza Muhammad Begg distinguished himself in everything he touched. And chose to call himself NEMO – a nobody. ( based on information from Filmdom-1946, HFGK, muVyz and an article by Yasir Abbasi ji, with thanks.)

Today’s song is a duet sung by Suman Kalyanpur and Mahendra Kapoor.

#the Decade of Seventies – 1981 – 1990 #
———————————————————–—-
#Bhoole-Bisre Geet # (missing movies of 1974)
————————————

During my daily search for songs, I keep coming across many songs which are yet to be posted on the blog. Here I am referring mainly to songs from the decade of ‘seventies’ i.e., 1971-1980. Sharing songs from this decade (1971-1980) is my ‘foremost objective’, as this period is related to my growing years and nostalgia associated with movies and songs from these years.

There are still many movies from ‘1971 to 1980’ that are yet to be introduced on the blog. And I am always more than happy when I am able to share songs from such movies. In this category, there are several movies which are lesser known or have become obscure by now.

Today’s movie is one such lesser known movie that I came across during my daily browsing of HFGK.

This movie is “Ang Se Lagaa Le-1974”.

It was directed by Shiv Kumar for ‘Shiv Kumar Productions, Bombay’.

Shiv Kumar was also the producer of this movie.

It had Satish Kaul, Prem Narayan, Sheetal, Arjun Bakshi Gill, Master Guddu, M.D. Khan, Anand Kumar, Vishnu Prabhu, Surjeet Kumar, Dr. Vyas, Shakuntala, Anand, Bhola, Sulochana Chatterjee, Jalal Agha (in special appearance) and others.

This movie was passed by Censor Board with ‘A’ certificate (restricted viewing( on 05.02.1974. (This movie is available on online platform where the certificate mentions that it is re-certified for ‘doordarshan’ on 10.11.1995.).

The title of the movies also mentions that this movie is ‘filmed entirely at Mysore State’.

Story Idea of this movie was by P.L. Kapoor who had also done the sound recording for this movie. This movie was written by Vijay Kaul.

Dialogues of this movie were written by P. Roy Choudhary and editing was done by Mohan Rathod.

‘Ang Se Lagaa Le’ has four songs written by Naqsh Lyallpuri and music for this movie was composed by Pradeep Roy Choudhary.

Following is the list of songs in this movie:-

S.No. Song Title Singer/s
01 Pyaar sajaao, bahaarein lutaao Asha Bhonsle
02 Dil mera dil, ye kahe, hosh chaahe… Kishore Kumar
03 Charnon mein tere jo aa ke giraa Asha Bhonsle
04 Baadal kaala, koyal kaali, us’se kaali raat hai Kishore Kumar

Today’s song is sung by Kishore Kumar. It is lip-synced on screen by Satish Kaul. Prema Narayan is also seen in the picturisation of this song.

Lyrics are by Naqsh Lyallpuri, and music is composed by Pradeep Roychoudhary.

I have listened to all songs of this movie, and they are nice songs. I had listened to today’s song for the first time more than a month back on radio in a programme on lyricist Naqsh Lyallpuri.

I have not watched this movie yet and I am not aware about this movie.

I would request knowledgeable readers to throw more light on this movie and its songs.

With today’s song this movie ‘Ang Se Ang Lagaa Le-1974’ makes its debut on the blog. Also, Pradeep Roy Choudhary makes his debut as a music-director on this blog. He is present in the category of ‘lyricist’ on the blog with one ‘lyrics’ credited to him.

Let us now listen to today’s song …

#The Decade of Seventies – 1971 – 1980 #

# Bhoole-Bisre Geet # Ek Naao Do Kinaare – 1973#
————————————————————–

This Friday when I was listening to the program ‘Shaam Sindoori’ on my return travel from office to home, I was awestruck when I listened to a song sung by Rafi Saab.

It was like I was listening to this song for the first time. I do not remember if I have listened to it earlier. This song was ‘ye shaam hai dhuaan dhuaan fizaa bahot udaas hai’. I immediately fell in love with this song. After all it had Rafi Saab’s voice and a very nice composition too.

I searched for the name of the movie and I came to know that it was from a 1973 movie ‘Ek Naao Do Kinaare’. This song is already posted on our blog long back on 24.12.2011.

This song has two versions – happy and sad. The happy version is the duet, which I listened to on the Radio. This duet is sung by Rafi Saab and Asha Bhosle. The sad version is a solo by Rafi Saab.

When I looked for other songs from this movie I came across today’s song which is sung by Asha Bhonsle.

The songs from this movie seem to be uploaded recently (i.e. one or two years ago) on ‘YouTube’. All the songs from this movie are nice compositions composed by music director Brij Bhushan.

‘Ek Naao Do Kinaare’ is directed by BR Ishara for Nitin Films, Bombay. It has Rakesh Pandey, Heena Kausar, Mrinal Mukherjee, Manhar Desai, Anand Narula, Manohar, Indra Medha, Sheelara, Karunesh Thakur, Neelam Garudiya, Narottam Shah, Meeta Tripathi, Ramesh Bhatt, Sharmaji, Yogesh Chhabda, Neelam Dave, Sarla Choksi, Miss Khan, Naseema, Master Farjan Engineer, Mansoori, Baby Yasmeen and others.

This movie was passed by Censor Board on 18.10.1973 with a ‘A’ certificate (i.e. with restricted viewership).

This movie has four songs (including a two version song) written by Naqsh Lyallpuri.
Music for this movie was composed by Brij Bhushan (he was assisted in orchestration by Kersi Lord and Uttam Singh).

Here is the list of songs of this movie. After the song under discussion , the movie is just one song away from ‘Yippeeee’.

04 Ye shaam hain dhuaan dhuaan (sad version) Mohd Rafi 24.12.2011

As mentioned above only one song, which is a multiple version song, has been posted on the blog.

Other than today’s song there is one more song in this movie. It is sung by Mukesh. It is a very nice song. (I am leaving this song for the ‘Mukesh fans’ to discuss on the blog.)
.
Today’s song is sung by Asha Bhonsle. It is lip-synced by Heena Kausar. Mrinal Mukherjee is also seen in the picturisation.

I would request knowledgeable readers to throw more light on the songs and story etc of this movie. This seems to be an obscure movie of its time.

Let us now listen to and enjoy the song …

Blog 10-Year Challenge (2012-2022) – Song No. 11
————————————————————————————–

Today’s song is from the ‘1979’ movie ‘Khaandaan’.
One song from this movie was represented on the blog ten years back today i.e. on 22.01.2012.

There were five song-posts on the blog on this day ten years ago on 22.01.2012. They are as listed below.

Song Movie title(Year) Remarks
Kise maaloom thha ik din muhabbat bezubaan hogi Saaqi(1952) All songs covered

Ye mulaaqaat ik bahaana hai Khaandaan-1979 2+1 of 6 songs covered

Three movies out of five have already been ‘Yippeeee’ed’ or all of their songs have been posted on the blog.

That give us two movies viz. ‘Ratnadeep-1952’ and ‘Khaandaan-1979’ from which we can discuss a song under the ‘blog ten-year challenge’ today.

I am presenting a song from the movie ‘Khaandaan-1979’

Here is a brief about this movie which I had shared while presenting a song from this movie earlier.

‘Khaandaan-1979’ (that is how HFGK spelled has spelled it) was produced by Sibte Hasan Rizvi for ‘New World Enterprises’, Bombay.
It was directed by Anil Ganguly. It had Jeetendra, Sulakshana Pandit, Bindu, Sujit Kumar, Nirupa Roy, A.K. Hangal, Dina Pathak, Jairaj, Jankidas, Rakesh Roshan and Bindiya Goswami in Guest appearance, Dinesh Hingoo, Raj Kishore, Pinchu Kapoor, Rajan Haksar, Birbal, Dhumal, Mohan Choti, Amal Sen, Roshni, Brijendra Mohan (Maujiram), Maya Devi, Maqbool.

Story and Dialogues of this film was written by Omar Khayyam Saharanpuri, and its Screenplay was written by Nubendu Ghosh. Lyrics for this film were penned by Naqsh Lyallpuri and music was composed by Khayyam Saab.

As per HFGK this film had a total of Six songs. One of these songs, viz. ‘maana teri nazar mein’ was recorded for this film but was excluded from this film.
This song was later included in the 1981 film ‘Ahistaa-Ahistaa’. LP records for both the movies ‘Khaandaan-1979’ and ‘Ahistaa-Ahistaa-1981’ has this song ‘mana teri nazar mein…’ included in them.
All the six songs of “Khaandaan” (1979) are solo songs. Two songs each are sung by Kishore Kumar and Sulakshana Pandit, and one each by Lata Mangeshkar and Nitin Mukesh.

Following is the list of songs of this movie.

*(covered in the movie Ahistaa-Ahistaa-1981

From the above list two songs have already been posted on the blog before the today’s song. And with the one song covered in the movie “Ahistaa-Ahistaa” we have three songs from this movie covered on the blog earlier.

Today’s song is the fourth song from this movie to appear on the blog. Today’s song is sung by Sulakshana Pandit. It is picturised on Sulakshana Pandit herself. Jeetendra is also present in the picturisation of this song.

Lyrics for today’s song have been sent by Prakashchandra.

Let us now listen to today’s song …

We can see from the above table that three movies viz. ‘Baghaawat’, ‘Dakoo Maan Singh’, and ‘Maayaa Baazaar’ have not yet made their debuts on the blog.

The songs from these three movies seem to be unavailable as of now (as I could not find them). One movie ‘Hulchal’ had no songs in it. That gives us thirty movies from the total of thirty-four movies which have been represented on the blog.

Out of these thirty movies exactly half numbers i.e., fifteen movies have already been YIPPEED on the blog.

So, eleven movies from this period 01.05.1971 to 31.08.1971 still have a few songs left to be covered. Out of these eleven movies I have presented songs from ‘Badnaam Basti’, ‘Bahke Kadam’, ‘Brahmaa Vishnu Mahesh’, ‘Iraadaa’ and ‘Shaan E Khuda’.

Today I am presenting a song from the movie ‘Puraani Pehchaan’. I had not listened to the songs from this movie earlier and even the name was new to me when I came across it first time. I listened to the today’s song while preparation of this post and liked the song too.

“Puraani Pehchaan-1971” was directed by Kewal Mishra for ‘Durga Films, Bombay’.

It had Sanjeev Kumar, Tanuja, Madan Puri, Bela Bose, Shammi, B.B. Bhalla, Tarun Bose, Dhanraj, Dilip Dutt, Johny Whisky, Sangeeta, Rafia Sultana, and others.

This movie had six songs composed by Music Director Bhushan and lyrics for all songs were written by Naqsh Lyallpuri.

Following is the details of the songs of this movie as mentioned in HFGK Vol-V (1971-1980).

S.No. Song Title Singer/s Posted On
01 Bachpan ka saath chhoota hai jaise ki khwaab toota hai Asha Bhonsle, chorus
02 Murli naa chhed Kaanha Asha Bhonsle

04 Aye jaan e bahaaraan rooh e chaman Mohd Rafi 27.01.2016
05 Aa aa, aa jaa, mujhe neend aa gayi thhi, kisi dard ne jagaaya Asha Bhonsle Being discussed today
06 Aaj ki raat nahin dil ko jalaane ke liye Asha Bhonsle

Geet Kosh-V mentions that the title for this movie was changed later from ‘Jab Jab Raat Wo Aayee’ which was its initial title given. Also, the 78 RPM records for the soundtracks of this movie were released by this name – ‘Jab Jab Raat Wo Aayee’ only.

This movie was passed by Censor Board on 07.06.1971.

Two songs from this movie ‘Puraani Pehchaan-1971’ have been posted on the blog earlier.

Today’s song is sung by Asha Bhonsle and on screen it is Tanuja lip syncing for Asha Bhonsle’s voice. Also see in the picturization of this song are Sanjeev Kumar, Bela Bose, Madan Puri and others.

This song seems to be a ‘haunting’ song in the movie. I have not watched this movie, so can’t say much about it.
I would request knowledgeable readers to throw light on this movie and its songs.

The picturization of this song reminds us of similar other songs in Hindi movies, e.g., ‘rulaa ke gayaa sapnaa mera’ from ‘Jewel Thief-1967’ etc. But we do not exactly know in what context the today’s song happens.

However, we can listen and enjoy the today’s song …

As mentioned above singer for today’s song is Asha Bhonsle and lyrics are by Naqsh Lyallpuri. Music is composed by Bhushan.

tera naam yaad aayaa aa
mujhe neend aa gayi thi

tera pyaar ban gayi hai
kisi ajnabi ki baahen
tujhe mil gayi hai manzil
meri kho gayi hain raahen
jo na dekhna thha dekha
jo naseeb thha wo paayaa
dhaley aankh se jo aansoo
tera naam yaad aayaa aa
mujhe neend aa gayi thhi

Song-Jagmag jagmag si mehfil mein naach uthhe armaan (Dard)(1981) Singers-Kishore Kumar, Asha Bhonsle, Lyrics-Naqsh Llayalpuri, MD-Khayyam
Kishore Kumar + Asha Bhonsle + chorus

Lyrics

jagmag jagmag si mehfil mein ae
jagmag jagmag si mehfil mein
naach uthhe armaan
dil ne geet khushi ka chheda
mehfil huyi jawaan

o mehfil taan sajdi
taan sajdi
je nache munde di maa
o mehfil taan sajdi
ho o o

dil se dil ka jab yaaraana ho jaaye ae
kaise na har khwaab suhaana ho jaaye ae
chupke chupke jab bhi teri aankhon se ae
aankh miley to
pyaar deewaana ho jaaye ae

ji chaahe main tujh pe sadke ae
ji chaahe main tujh pe sadke
kar doon apni jaan
mehfil taan sajdi
taan sajdi
je nache munde di maa

mehfil taan sajdi
taan sajdi
je nache munde di maa
o mehfil taan sajdi
ho o o

pal pal huaa sunehra mere jeewan ka aa
meri palkon mein hai sapna dulhan ka aa

tu jis roz chali aayegi ghoonghat mein ae
nayaa sawera hoga mere aangan ka aa
jaanoon dil se ho jaaungi
jaanoon dil se ho jaaungi
tujh pe main qurbaan

o mehfil taan sajdi
taan sajdi
je nache munde di maa
o mehfil taan sajdi
taan sajdi
je nache munde di maa
o mehfil taan sajdi
ho o o

mamta ke daaman mein khushiyaan lehraaye ae ae
mere sang sang naache meri aashaayein
har mausam in do phoolon mein rang bhare ae ae
dil se yahi duaayen honthon par aaye
phoole phaley dilon ka gulshan
mehka rahe samaa
mehfil taan sajdi

taan sajdi
je nache munde di maa
mehfil taan sajdi
taan sajdi
je nache munde di maa
mehfil taan sajdi
ho o o
