Blog 10-Year Challenge (2010-2020) – Song No.60
————————————————–—————————————————
Welcome all to this post for today’s(27 August 2020) blog ten-year challenge. Hopefully we will have two posts under the challenge today.
Atul ji had mentioned in previous posts of the challenge that the blog was having ‘customary’ six posts a day those days. This average was well maintained throughout the month. The blog had a whopping total of 176 posts in August 2010, which if we think now would look impossible with the current rate. Nowadays even a hundred posts in a single month looks like a distant dream. The last occasion of a hundred posts in one single month was in March’2018.

Yes, it is a story of every day – a song plays and memories come by. Or sometimes, memories passing thru remind of a song that is so very dear to the heart. That is all that remains now – memories and songs playing hide and seek in the dimly lit bylanes of the mind.

The next song in this series comes from the 1976 film ‘Ladki Bholi Bhaali’. And incidentally this film is also making its debut on the blog today. That makes it three in a row today – 🙂 🙂 .

Hullo Atuldom
The song with this post is from ‘Kaho Na…Pyar Hai’, a movie that was released on 14th January 2000. It is produced and directed by Rakesh Roshan. This film was planned as the launch vehicle for Hrithik Roshan in Bollywood with Ameesha Patel playing the female lead. This movie had the new comer Hrithik play a double role which he handled well and the movie was liked by the critics and masses. The songs were a rage and the movie a huge hit.

Rafi Sb – In The Seventies – 14

(1977 – Duet)
Come 1977 and Shatrughan Sinha had been around in films for about 8 years now. He already had two Filmfare awards for best supporting actor under his belt – in 1971 for ‘Paaras’ and 1975 for ‘Dost’. On screen, majority of his roles have a style – freewheeling, assertive and emphatic, whether being the smug good guy or the abrasive bad guy. In the seventies, Shatrughan Sinha was one of the busier actors in the industry, averaging 8 to 9 films a year.

A few days back I got a very personal email from our Sudhir Kapurji. This was a personal invite for contributing to the blog on the occasion of it reaching 10000 songs. At that time we were on song number 9720. Today before writing this when I visited the blog I see we are at song number 9750. So it is an alarm bell for slow pokes like me to send contributions to Atul at the earliest. Also when I saw the mail I had mentally decided that whatever I send till the D-Day of our blog should be happy and peppy songs. So here I am with my own version of an invitation song.

Kishore Kumar is mostly known for singing happy songs. But he has sung sad songs as well , and they are more in number than we tend to believe. And out of all these songs that he has sung, there are some gems that are less known than they should be. For instance, I have posted his sad songs from “Nishaan” (Lahron ki tarah yaadein ) and “Begaana”(Matlabi hain log yahan par ) in this blog which are absolute gems.
