Zaheera, Aruna Irani, Helen, Shakila Banu Bhopali, N.A.Ansari, K.N.Singh, Chandrashekhar, Satyen Kappu, Bindu and Mehmood made special appearances in this movie.

Only if religion had not fallen out of favor with the film industry. Kya kahen, sab paise ki maya hai (what to say, it is all a money game). The producers say that the public is not interested. And so they will lose money if they make religious films. And so we have been seeing less and less of religious and spiritual themes on screen. Rather, I do not recall seeing any title that indicates a religious film, in the past decade or so.

We are now nearing the end of the decade. The selections continue to prosper. A good share of duets of 1979 are already posted here. And the selection of singing partners continues to be very varied. Besides Lata ji and Asha ji, other names are Hemlata, Anuradha Paudwal, Savita Suman, Usha Khanna etc. This duet, released during 1979, is sung along with Usha Mangeshkar.

“Sapne Suhaane” (1974) is a recent movie by the standards of this blog, but hardly any information is available about this movie on internet.
The only thing that seems to be known about this movie are its songs and that too only the audio.

When the lyrics and details of this song were sent to me by Prakashchandra,I thought that he must have made a mistake as I have definitely posted this well known Rafi song in the blog. On checking, I found that I had not discussed this song, rather I had discussed the other well known song from this movie sung by Mukesh (Main dhoondhta hoon jinko ).

Meri hasraton ki duniya

The movie was no great shakes. But one still needs to sit up and take notice as far as this movie is concerned. The lead characters ( Kiran Kumar and Radha Saluja, I think) do not deserve to lipsync such a divine song, but they do , and in the process try to pull the song down alongwith the movie.
