Statistics available about HFM are not as accurate as say cricket statistics. What is more, the reliability of HFM statistics too are often doubtful. Still, these statistics give us useful information that we can use.

For instance, I know from information contained on internet that Suraiyya sang just over 300 songs in her career. One figure that I read somewhere puts this figure as 306 while another source puts the figure at around 320+ songs.

This blog has at present 296 Suraiyya songs. We have now reached a stage where finding “new” Suraiyya songs to discuss is becoming increasingly difficult, so much so that Suraiyya is in her 290s in the blog for several months now without any further additions. I can no longer stumble upon “new” Suraiyya songs, rather I have to specifically search for them. This process has become akin to deep sea diving looking for specific treasures that are sunk deep.

Here is one such rare Suraiyya song that I discovered recently. This song, which is a Suraiyya solo with chorus, is written by Prem Dhawan. Music is composed by Hansraj Bahl.

This song is from “Resham”(1952). The movie was produced and directed by Lekhraj Bhakri for Jubilee Pictures, Bombay. The movie had Suraiyya, Jairaj, Sapru, Achala, Ramesh Thakar, Baby Naaz, Jagdish, Devraj, Lal Khan, Khursheed, Sundar, Deen Dayaal, Deep Arora etc in it.

Only the audio of this song is available, but it is clear that the song was picturised on Suraiyya herself.
