This article is written by our dear Atul ji. You must be wondering, why this change in presentation style today. Well, this post is a very, very, very special occasion, or rather a momentous occasion, for our blog and for Atul ji. It is appropriate that this introduction and announcement be made on his behalf.
THIS IS ATUL JI’s 10,000th POST ON THIS BLOG.
This is a milestone, in comparison to which all our earlier milestones and celebrations pale in significance. A single-handed dedicated effort relentlessly in progress for the past almost nine years. I am sure it will take some time for all of us, for the significance and eminence of this event to sink in.
More special posts by the members of our bandwagon are in planning, starting tomorrow. So please keep connected and be a witness to this remarkable celebration.

As regulars are aware, I am based at Izatnagar, Bareilly at present which happens to be located between Delhi and Lucknow. In fact, this place is equidistant from both these cities. This fact had been commented upon by several regulars. Our Lucknow based regular namely Mr Avadh Lal even commented that I needed to visit Lucknow and meet the Lucknow based music lovers.

So this is the Yippeee song for today. I had promised Atul ji that I would do both the debut and the Yippeee songs today. The debut was easy, but getting to the Yippeee turned out to be a ‘tedhi kheer’ today. Atul ji has shared with me a reference list which contains information about the near-Yippeee films. But then cross referencing and searching for the last missing songs becomes quite a job. Anyway, finally I have a song that was blocking the Yippeee for the 1948 film ‘Ziddi’, just because it was not available online, and not available easily otherwise. Thankfully I am able to locate it in my collection and have uploaded the song online today.

Missing Films of 1960s – 28

Ever so often, I go searching for a song, an obscure song from an obscure film. I do not know what I will find, because the film is unfamiliar and the songs are unheard. I just dive into the list of songs sitting in my hard drive, with apprehensions, knowing not what will be discovered. And almost always, when I return to surface, I am gasping for breath, not that I was not able breath while in the depths of my collection, but because of wonder and joy on having laid my hands on a fabulous gem of a song that I had not heard before. And going by the awareness factor and availability online, the same may be true for friends and readers who may quite well also be listening to such gems for the first time.
