Alphabetical list of actresses who have lip synced in Asha Bhonsle’s voice- Part XI
(Actresses whose name begin with the letter K)
In the first ten episodes of the series, we listed actresses whose names begin with the first ten letters of the alphabet and who had lip synced in Asha Bhonsle’s voice in the blog. They we went on to cover a song that was lip synced by another acresses whose name began with the same letter and who had not lip synced in Asha Bhonsle’s voice in the blog.
We managed to find “new” actresses (whose name begin with the first ten letters of the alphabet) lip syncing in Asha Bhonsle’s voice for the first time in the blog. They were Anju Mahendru, Bhanupriya,Chandrakala,Divya Bharati, Ekta,Farheen,Gulnar Irani,Harsha Mehra,Isha Koppikar and Jasmine.
The next letter of the alphabet is K. This letter K gives us as many as 28 actresses who have lip synced in Asha Bhonsle’s voice in the blog. Some of there actresses have similar sounding names that can create same name confusion among movie lovers.

We observe that a large number of actresses whose names begin with K have lip synced in Asha Bhonsle’s voice in the blog. If one thought that equally large number of actresses whose name starts with K are available who are not yet represented in the blog, then one cannot be more mistaken. Finding out one such actress was a tall order. Prakashchandra, our inhouse expert in these matters came up with only one eligible name and only one eligible movie. The actress is Khushboo, and the movie is an obscure movie called “Sautela Pati”(1985).
“Sautela Pati”(1985) was produced by T P Agrawal and directed by B R Ishara for Arsi Films, Bombay. This “social” movie had Raj Kiran, Devendra Khandelwal, Asha Sachdev, Madan Puri, Mazhar Khan, Gulshan Grover, Uma Khosla, Yash Sharma, Qureshi etc in it. Navin Nischol made a special appearance in the movie. Khushboo made her debut in Hindi movies with this movie.
“Sautela Pati”(1985) had six songs in it. Asha Bhonsle was the only female playback in the movie and her voice figured in four songs. On youtube, only audio of the songs of this movie are available. Video of the movie is also available where thankfully the songs are also present. Prakashchandra went through the painstaking process of watching this whole movie and identified the songs where Asha Bhonsle gives playback for Khushboo. It is a time consuming process, and a painful process as well, especially when one has to watch a movie like this that sank without a trace mainly because the movie is unwatchable.
Here is a song from “Sautela Pati”(1985) which is sung by Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhonsle. Bhushan Banmali is the lyricist. Music is composed by Iqbal Qureshi.
The song is picturised on Devendra Khandelwal and Khushboo. This movie is perhaps the only movie where Asha Bhonsle gave playback for Khushboo or for any other actress whose name begins with K and who is unrepresented in the blog.
With this song, the movie makes its debut in the blog. Actor Devendra Khandelwal too makes his debut in the blog.
With the letter K done, next episode will take up an actress with the letter L. The blog has 11 actresses whose names begin with L and who have lip synced in Asha Bhonsle’s voice in the blog. Finding a new actress whose name begins with the letter L and who has lip synced in Asha Bhonsle’s voice was a challenging task even for Prakashchandra. He of course managed to come with an eligible actress with that letter too.
Let us enjoy this obscure song picturised on the only eligible actress whose name begins with K (Khushboo). This song is from the only movie where Asha Bhonsle gave playback to Khushboo.

Devendra khandelwal already made his debut in the blog in khatta meetha song “thoda hai thode ki zaroorat hai”,
Devendra khandelwal acted in Tumhara kaaloo film also, I don’t know whether he got songs picturised in that….

kanchana (south) if Farz film and Veer Abhimanyu 1970 film Kanchana are one and the same, both are South Kanchana, please correct this in the table and
there must be Asha Bhosle song for South Krishna Kumari, I will let you know that because South Krishna Kumari appeared in many Tamil/telugu/Kannada dubbed Hindi films, she is different from North Krishna Kumari, you have mentioned North Krishna Kumari ‘s name in the table for her song from film zimbo 1958, which is correct

I am very happy to see the K instalment of this series and as usual I discovered many actresses whose name were new to me. I didn’t know for example that there are two Kanchanas and then there is a Kanchanmala too. I was also surprised to see Khushboo debut today. I was always under the impression that „bol baby bol“ was sung by Asha Bhosle. Today I discovered that it is S. Janaki, who provided the playback for that song for Khushboo.
On this blog there is also the song „ye barka bahar“ from Mayur Pankh (1954). The song is a Lata-Asha duett. Asha Bhosle gives playback to Khurshid Vajifdar. In this post, there is the informative comment by her son.
I found the following actresses (who are not in your list), who got playback from Asha Bhosle in Hindi movies.
Kanan Kaushal – Meri dard bhari ye pukar from Naag Champa (1976)
Kareena Kapoor – Jab dil mile from Yaadein (2001)

Kanan Kaushal is another actress who is not covered on the Blog with Asha Bhosle song, The song, ‘phagun ka mahina aayo sakhi’ rendered by Asha Bhosle and Usha Mangeshkar is from ‘Maya Machindra (1975). Asha Bhosle sings for Kanan Kaushal. Unfortunately, video clip of the song is not available though the song can be watched in the film which is available on a video sharing platform.

Thanks for pointing this out. So the two K actresses who have sung in Asha Bhonsle’s voice and who are not represented in the blog doing that are Kanan Kaushal and Kareena Kapoor.
