“Kab Kyun Aur Kahaan” (1970) was produced and directed by Arjun Hingorani. It was he who hit upon the idea of using three word titles, with each word beginning with K. That worked for him as well, seeing that the titles of his movies continued to be like that till 1990s, with titles like “Kahaani Kismat ki” (1973), “Khel Khilaadi Ka” (1977), Kaatilon Ke Kaatil(1981), Kaun Kare Kurbaani (1991) etc. Now you know where Ms Kapoor got her inspiration for all her TV serials with titles beginning with K.

“Aawaaz” (1956) was a Mehboob Productions movie. It was directed by Zia Sarhadi. The movie had Rajendra Kumar, Nalini Jaywant, Usha Kiran, Zul Vellani, Anwar, N. Hussain, Mukri, Murad, Leela Chitnis, Jagdeep etc in it.

“Ghar Ghar Ki Baat” (1959) was produced by Ramniklal Shah and directed by Ravindra Dave. The movie had Durga Khote, Minoo Mumtaz, Azra, Suresh ,Mahendra Kumar, Jamal, Asit Sen, Indira, Gulab Bai, Krishnakant, Krishna Kumari, Baby Shobha, Nadir, Burhaan, Pal Sharma, Deepak etc in it.

The lines of this song “dil deewaana dil mastaana maane na” may remind most music lovers of the “Maine Pyaar Kiya” (1989) song that goes “dil deewaana bin sajna ke maane na”. The song “dil deewaana dil mastaana maane na” is not from that movie though. It is from a much older movie viz. “Aawaaz” (1956) and it is regarded as a timeless classic.

Unlike the previous five Rakhi festivals that this blog has seen, the date of the festival this year has been in some doubt. Some people believe that it is today (viz 20 august 2013), while others feel that it is on 21 august 2013. And that leaves me in a dilemma as to when to discuss the Rakhi songs on this occasion.
