I have discussed as many as five songs from “Laat Saahab” (1967). But five songs just too few a number to be satisfied with for a typical musical blockbuster of those days.

As a music director, N Dutta worked for films that are a mix of A grade and B/C grade films. He did have some films associated with big name banners. Especially, he worked for BR Films for the movies Saadhna (1958), Dhool Ka Phool (1959) and Dharamputra (1961). Each of these films is a musical bonanza and boasts of a string of wonderful hits. Four songs of the 1958 film ‘Saadhna’ are already posted on this blog. This is the 5th gem from this film.

When I saw the lyrics of this song sent to me by nahm, I thought that she had sent this lyrics by mistake. How can this song be not yet posted ? But when I checked up, I found that not only this song, but in fact none of the songs of this movie, namely “Neela Aakash” (1965) have figured in the blog so far. So that makes this song a “How come this song is ot yet posted !” category of song.

A gem of a soft romantic duet. ‘Mere Armaan Mere Sapne’ is a somewhat better remembered film from early sixties (1963). Produced under the banner of Lalit Kala Mandir, Bombay, this film is directed by Arvind Soni. The lyrics for this film are penned by Rajendra Krishan, and the wonderful compositions are by N Dutta. The film has a good star cast that includes Pradeep Kumar, Jaishree Gadkar, Aseem Kumar, Kumari Naaz, Sumitra Devi, Pran, Asit Sen, Agha, Manmohan Krishan, Badri Prasad, Johnny Whisky, Paul Mahendra, Padma Devi, Paro Devi, Samar Chatterjee etc.
