In Indian culture, a man coming hard on an an unwilling woman is looked down upon and it is called “teasing”. But if a woman does it to an unwilling man, it is called “seduction”. 😉 Of course, Bollywood movies regard both these activities as desirable and as such we have had many “teasing” as well as “seductive” songs in Bollywood movies.

This movie “Madhosh” (1951) was one of the earliest movies of Madan Mohan as a music director and also Meena Kumari as an actress. This movie had Manhar Desai, Meena Kumari and Usha Kiran in lead roles.

I was not aware that Madan Mohan had given music in a Guru Dutt movie. This movie was “Suhagan” (1964). It had Guru Dutt and Mala Sinha in lead roles.

Helen was known for her one mandatory dance in most movies of 1960s and 1970s. This would typically be a cabaret dance where she would sing and dance in a club. Another variation was where she would sing and dance to seduce the hero.
