In the financial markets to which I belonged until my retirement, there is an oft repeated remark that not even a die-hard practitioner or expert in the financial markets can claim that he knows everything about the markets. This is mainly on account of the fact that financial markets are dynamic by nature. ‘Hum hain raahi pyaar ke’ – the phrase reminds me of an iconic song “ham hain raah pyaar ke ham se kuchh naa boliye” from the film NAU DO GYAARAH (1957) and the Amir Khan-Juhi Chawala starrer film HUM HAIN RAAHI PYAAR KE (1993). I was not aware of the fact that there was one more film by the same name until I came across an audio clip of a beautiful song from that film.

“Mem Sahib” (1956) was a lovely movie starring Kishore Kumar, Meena Kumari and Shammi Kapoor. This movie was a fun movie which was great to watch. And the music was wonderful.

I had taken it for granted that the song ‘zindagi ki kasam ho chuke unke ham’ from film MAALIK (1958) has already been discussed in this blog. When I saw the movie-wise list of songs just to know in which year this film was released, I found that two songs from this film have been discussed and this song was not one of them.

“Lakeeren” (1954) has by now ended up as an obscure movie, but that is not how it must have been during its time. It was a Sushil Pictures production and it was directed by Harbans. Starcast of the movie included big names like Ashok Kumar, Nalini Jaiwant, Pran, Durga Khote, Ramayan Tiwari, Cuckoo etc.

Regaining the memories of a song heard long back, I tried to locate it and tried to find more about it. Thankfully, I am able to find the audio posted on the YouTube. But then all other information is new to me. This lovely sound of a melancholic melody by Talat Mehmood, is a song from a film ‘Patthar Ke Khwaab’ (1969), a name that I encountered for the first time today. Pulling together information from Geet Kosh, I find this film is produced under the banner of Nagin Productions, and directed by Pal Premi. The main list of stars includes Mahipal, Parveen Choudhary, Sapru, Madhumati, Amarnath, Mohan Choti, Jeevankala etc.
