I am aware of two movies called “Baazaar”. One was released in 1949 and another in 1982.

I am aware of a movie called “Chaand” (1959), but I have found that another movie of a same name was released in 1944 too. This earlier movie, viz “Chaand” (1944) had Sitara,Prem Adeeb,Sapru,Bega Para etc in it.

“Balam” (1949) is a movie starring Wasti,Suraiyya,Jayant,Masud,Nigar Sultana,Agha etc and several of these names do not ring any bells for most music lovers, that is how old this movie is.

“Jal Tarang” (1949) is a forgotten movie which starred Rehman, Geeta Bali and a dog. Like the movie, its songs too are forgotten.

I have discussed as many as six songs from “Jeet” (1948) in this blog. Most of these songs were sung by Suraiyya, the then reigning acting-singing superstar. But this movie also had a new emerging voice that was tipped to go far. Yes, Lata Mangeshkar was also given an opportunity of playback singing in this movie.
