“Mirza Ghalib” (1954) is a movie based on the life of Mirza Ghalib, one of the foremost shayars of Urdu language who was long dead and gone by the time this movie (or for that matter Hindi movie industry itself) came into existence. This movie is one of the rare movies, where the lyrics were written by the person on whose life the movie was based, and lyrics were written almost one century before the movie was made.

“Jeewan Jyoti” (1953) is a movie that had Shammi Kapoor, Chand Usmani, Shashikala etc in it. Personally I am not much aware of this movie. In fact, I am not much aware of its songs too. This time I realised that this song was from “Jeewan Jyoti” (1953). In fact, I thought that this song, which is fairly well known, was already in this blog. But I was wrong in my assumption, of course.

“Pyaase Panchhi” (1960) is a rather B grade movie where Mehmood was the hero opposite Ameeta. Going by the fact that Mehmood subsequently made his mark not as a hero but as a comedian, it appears to me that this movie may not have done well at the box office.
