Today’s song is from an imaginary costume film ‘Son of Sindbad’ (1958).
Alibaba, Alladin and Sindbad were the popular characters during our school days. Not only books of their stories but also films made on them were the targets of all children in those days. It was a thrilling experience to get a book on one of these Heroes, as a gift on “Happy Birthday” ! I am not very sure if today’s young children read these stories. I doubt if they even know these names. These boys seem to favour Harry Potter stories, while the young girls are lost on reading Mills and Boon novels, I suppose ! The big fat book ‘Stories of Arabian Nights’ was the most sought after book (in spite of 5 copies) in our school library. Stories of Alibaba, Alladin, Sindbad the sailor, Hatimtai, Gul Bakavali etc enchanted us.

“Police” (1958) was produced by Deep Khosla and Pradeep Kumar for Deep & Pradeep Productions and directed by Kalidas (Pradeep Kumar’s brother) for Deep & Pradeep Productions, Bombay. The movie had Madhubala, Pradeep Kumar, Anwar Hussain, Nadira, Dhumal, Raj Mehra, Tun Tun, Deep Khosla, Rajan Kapoor, Jagdish Kanwal, Om Prakash, Neelofer etc. Bhagwan and Mirza Musharaf had made guest appearances in the movie.

It is not that a well established famous film company or a filmmaker does not suffer loss due to a flop film, but new entrants, who enter this field with a hope to make a lot of money, frequently end up with unforeseen obstacles which forces them to dump their filmmaking adventure midway.

and Daizy Irani etc.in it. They were supported by Rajendar aka Rajendranath, Navmi, Hira Sawant, Sohan, Narbada Shankar, Tuntun, Jagadish Kanwal, Raja, B.D.Padha, Ramesh Tiwari, Kishore Sharma,Darshan Papaji, Baby Shobha. The movie also had a dog called Tiger in an important role.

Films titled “Sitamgar” were made in 1934, 1954, 1958 and 1985. The 1954 film “Sitamgar” was a C grade stunt film. I do not know about the films made in 1934 and 1985.

We observe that three movies (out of seven) whose songs were covered in the blog on this date ten years ago (on 24 May 2013) have since been YIPPEED in the blog. That leaves us with four unYIPPEED movies that are eligible for Blog Ten Year Challenge today (24 May 2023). Out of these four unYIPPEED movies, two movies have only one song left to be covered but that last song could not be located, so these two movies cannot be taken up under BTYC. That leaves us with just eligible for BTYC and whose remaining songs are available.
