Today, we shall take up the case of a rather unknown music director, Prem Kumar.
He has a solitary unreleased film to his credit. Only two solo songs are available in the voice of Mukesh and Mahendra Kapoor.
The film name is Paisa aur Zindagi which was in the making circa 1973. Not many details are available of any the cast of this film. Myswar has whatever details are available of this unreleased film.

Yesterday, I was watching the song, gumsum saa ye jahaan ye raat ye hawaa from the film, ‘Duniya Jhuktee Hai’ (1960). An idea came to me as to how many Hindi films songs may have the word ‘gumsum’ in the first line of the mukhda of the songs. I checked on the internet and found that over two dozen songs had the word, ‘gumsum’ in the first line of the mukhda. There may be more Hindi film songs with ‘gumsum’ but they may appear elsewhere in the songs. I selected few such songs to watch/listen. One of ‘gumsum’ songs which I heard for the first time and liked so much that I must have heard umpteen times. It is a beautifully crafted song in terms of lyrics, rendition, orchestration and the picturisation. The song is ‘gumsum kyun hai sanam o zaraa maan jaa’ from the film, ‘Bhala Maanush’ (1979) which I am presenting in this short write-up, concentrating mainly on the song. Gulshan Bawra wrote this song.

‘Noor – E-Ilaahi-1976’ was directed by Sheikh Nisar. It was a ‘Bundelkhand films, Bombay’ presentation. It was passed by Censor Board on 09.09.1976. It had Sona, Jatin, N.A.Ansari, Nazeer Hussain, Chandrashekhar, Veena, Chand Usmani, Aparna Choudhary, Smita, Lata Arora, Niranjan Mathur, Master Babbu, Baby Neelofar, Champak, Hari Shukla, Jilani, Maqbool, R.S.Chopra, Gani, Uma Dutt, etc. Yusuf Azad, Rasheeda Khatoon, Jagdeep and Mirza M Baig had made special appearaances. Prayag Raj, K.B. Pathak, Mohan Choti, and Kadar Khan made friendly appearances in this movie.

Hullo Atuldom
Wishing our guiding force; ex-Ranchiwala now-Bhopali Gaanewala, usually addressed as Atulji by the followers of ASAD (acronym for atulsongaday) A Very Happy Birthday. I thank him (as always) for providing us this platform where “birds of a feather flock together”. What started as a place for one post (not necessarily one song though, as some posts contain all versions of a song) a day had become a multi-post per day blog after the initial few months of its journey. Sachin Bhowmick (17 July 1930– 12 April 2011) was mainly a writer (story and screenplays) for many movies in Hindi. ‘Raaja Raani’ was the only movie that he directed. The producer of ‘Raaja Rani’ was Jagdish Kumar, and it was presented by J. Omprakash.
