Today (31 july 2013) is Mumtaz’s 66 th birth anniversary. I find it an interesting coincidence that her peak in Hindi movies coincided with the peak of Rajesh Khanna. Mumtaz bowed out of movie industry just as Rajesh Khanna lost his crown in mid 1970s.

I realised it only just now, literally at the 11th hour that today (8 march) is the birth anniversary of Sahir Ludhianvi (8 march 1921- 25 october 1980). How could I forget the fact that Sahir Ludhianvi’s birthday falls on the International Women’s day ! This fact was mentioned by Raja while discussing Sahir Ludhianvi song (Aurat ne janam diya mardon ko (Saadhana)) this day two years ago.

“Geet Gaata Chal” (1975) was a Rajshree Productions movie. It was produced by Tarachand Barjatya and directed by Hiren Nag. The movie had Sachin, Sarika, Manhar Desai, Urmila Bhatt, Madan Puri, Leela Mishra, Khyati, Minoo Mehtab, Agha, Dhumal, Padma Khanna, V.Gopal, Swati, Mehmood Jr., Sunder, Ramayan Tiwari etc in it.
