“Naatak” (1975) was a Filmland Production movie. It was produced by C D Shah and Harish Upadhyay and directed by Sohanlal Kanwar. “Chupke Chupke”(1975) was a Rupam Pictures private Limited production. This movie was produced by N C Sippy and Hrishikesh Mukherji and directed by Hrishikesh Mukherji. The movie was a romantic comedy and it had Dharmendra, Amitabh Bachchan, Sharmila Tagore, Jaya Bhaduri, Om Prakash, Usha Kiran, ,Asrani, Lili Chakraborthy, David Abraham, Harish Magon, Keshto Mukerjee, Dev Kishan,L alita Sinha aka Lalita Kumari, Naina Apte, Chaitali, Aarti, Amal Sen, Master Bittu, Masterjee etc in it.

“Khushboo” (1975) was based on a Sharat Chandra Chattopadhyay story called “Pandit moshai”. This movie was produced under the banner of Tirupati Pictures Combine. Prasann Kapoor was the producer and Gulzar directed the movie. The movie had Jeetendra, Hemamalini, Master Raju Shrestha, Farida Jalal, Leela Mishra, Durga Khote, Sarika, Asrani, Chandrima Bhadhuri, Harish Magan, Sharmila Tagore in a special appearance, Pratimadevi, Devkishen, Sudhir Thakkar, Nasir, Bhola, Om Shivpuri etc in it.

“Aakraman” (1975) was a title that came as a surprise to me. Those were the days when Hindi movies did not have titles in Textbook Hindi. “Aakraman” is Hindi/ Sanskrit for “Attack”. The tendency for movie makers those days was the use a word like “Hamla” instead of “Aakraman”, even though it was a word of normal usage in Hindi textbooks. That way one needs to give some credit to the makers of this movie that he used a Hindi title for a Hindi movie.

This song “Ganga Mein dooba na Jamuna mein dooba” was an extremely popular song of its time, viz 1970s. I was one of those who lived listening to this song and humming it too, all the while remaining totally oblivious to the details of this song. With time, this song ran its course and was forgotten with time.
