“Gehraayee” (1980) was a Avikam’s production. It was produced by N B Kamat and direcyed by Vikas Desai and Aruna Raje. The low budget art movie had Anant Nag, Dr.Shree Ram Lagoo, Indraani Mukherjee, Padmini Kolhapure, Reeta Bhaduri, Amrish Puri, Sudhir Dalvi, Shubha Joshi, Satyendra, Satya Kumar Patil, Suhas Bhalekar, Ameeta Kelekar, Eknath Hattangadi, Kumar Shahu, Ramakrishna, JyotiLaxmi, Indiramma, Somu, Rao etc in it.

“Hum Paanch” (1980) was a S K Films Enterprises production. It was produced by Surinder Kapoor and directed by Bapu. “Saanjh Ki Bela” (1980) is a movie which is a recent one by the standards of this blog. Still I was totally oblivious of this movie till recently. It is only when I got down to discuss this song that I became aware of this movie.

“Abdullah” (1980) was a movie that received quite a bit of publicity during its making, but people lost interest once it was released. I do not know why. This movie never came to my town, which is normally the facte of B grade movies and not a movie which was produced and directed by an A grade Producer like err Sanjay Khan :).

It is a commonly held view that obscure movies and songs are those that were created long long ago. But that is not always the case. There could be movies and songs that may have ended up as obscure even if they may have been created as late as in 1980 !
