What is global capitalism theory?

The above is just to get to the idea of “Bade log” in todays context. We are in the middle of third decade of 21st century, a quarter of which we all have seen/ lived through.
Alhamdullillah for everything, the grand plan of the Almighty takes shape in the ways he ordains. We humans must just bear it, as we cannot change anything. We can try and equip ourselves, using the faculties granted by the Almighty, to deal with the things destined. With wisdom, dignity, patience, and faith.
We are grappling as a human race, with fears of food shortages, natural calamities like wildfires, unnatural calamities like a nuclear war, plus the biggest fear of all, giving the power over fate, to the unwise, the undignified, the impatient and the faithless.
The biggest responsibility and purpose of the humans in the universe is to be worthy of its creator. We have been given the faculties, granted to no other being. This is the simple purpose of creation; scientists/thinkers/philosophers are trying to find for millennia.
This is “chhotta munh aur badi baat”, but just to state things in the proper perspective as things stand.
The song under discussion is from the film “Phandebaaz” 1978. R. D. Burman is the composer, with lyrics of Anand Bakshi. Mohammed Rafi is singing for Dharmendra and Amit Kumar is singing for Dharmendra’s partner, the actor I cannot name.

Helen is also seen in the song. The filming is done in areas of South Bombay, showing some landmark buildings and roads of the city, how it all looked in 1978. This could be the first duet song of Mohammed Rafi – Amit Kumar to feature in the blog. I had seen a photograph of Kishore Kumar sitting on the floor with a young boy next to the “maiyyat” of Rafi Sahab. It must have been taken on 1st August, 1980 at home, before the funeral procession. The boy is the younger son of Kishore Kumar, looked exactly like Amit Kumar. I mistook him for Amit Kumar. But checked recently that Amit Kumar is much older, and here he is singing duets with Rafi Sahab.
Dharmendra – Rafi songs are not over yet. More landmark songs remain to be posted. I have posted so many over the last 2 months, that a series could have been made.

Pancham’s Music – Eighties-to-Nineties (1981-1994…) Duets-1
Welcome all to this post, where we are covering a duet song composed by Rahul Dev Burman fondly known as Pancham. I had earlier presented Pancham’s compositions from the eighties. With this post, we will be listening to duet songs composed by Pancham from the eighties and subsequently the nineties.
The song being covered in this article is from the movie ‘Romance-1983’. This movie was another Kumar Gaurav movie that had its title in English, like his film ‘Love Story-1981’ followed by ‘Star-1982’, and ‘Lovers-1983’.
‘Romance-1983’ was produced and directed by Ramanand Sagar for his home productions ‘Sagar Art Enterprises, Bombay’. This movie was passed by Censor Board on 12.10.1983. The cast of this movie included Shammi Kapoor, Kumar Gaurav, Poonam Dhillon, with Saeed Jaffrey, Helena Luke, Sushma Seth, Prema Narayan, and Tom Alter. Hullo Atuldom
“Jawani Zindabad” (1990) was a film that has been listed in the romantic/ drama genre. It was a remake of the 1988 Kannada film ‘ Avale Nanna Hendthi’.
The film had Aamir Khan & Farha Naaz playing the lead with Asrani, Kadar Khan, Javed Jaffrey, Rohini (from South Indian films), Utpal Dutt, Shobha Khote, Rajesh Puri, Upasana Singh, Sushma Seth, Satyen Kappu, Chandrasekhar, Mehmood Jr., Birbal, Shail Chaturvedi, Jagdish Raj, Viju Khote, and many known faces playing supporting characters. Anand Milind were tghe music directors for songs written by Sameer & Verma Malik. Sadhana Sargam, Amit Kumar, Suresh Wadkar, Kavitha Krishnamurthy, Anuradha Paudwal, Udit Narayan, & Mohd Aziz were the playback singers used for the six songs. The film was produced by Jay Mehta & Pranlal Mehta with Arun Bhatt as the director.

Today 3rd July 2025 is the seventy-third birthday of Singer Amit Kumar (born on 3rd July 1952). On this occasion we will be listening to a song sung by him and composed by the music director, with whom Amit Kumar sung the highest number of songs i.e. Rahul Dev Burman.
This song is from the movie ‘Teri Qasam-1982’ which was directed by A.C. Trilokchander for ‘Navjeevan Productions, Bombay’. This movie was passed by Censor Board on 25.05.1982. Titu was the producer of this movie. It had Kumar Gaurav, Poonam Dhillon, Girish Karnad, Ranjeeta, Nirupa Roy, Monty, Paintal, Jyoti Bakshi, Neelu Arora, Najma, Rakesh Bedi, Mushtaq Merchant, Kanti, Manmouji, Birbal, S.P. ‘Gudiyaa’ (1997) was produced by Mahesh Bhatt and Amit Khanna under the banner of Plus Films and was directed by cinematographer and screenplay writer, Gautam Ghose. The cast included Mithun Chakraborty, the debutant Nandana Sen, Pran, Mohan Agashe, Subhendu Chatterjee, Tiku Talsania, Masood Akhtar etc with special appearances by Avtar Gill, Sunil Mukherjee, Anjaan Shrivastav and Anusha Majumdar. This was Gautam Ghose’s first Hindi feature film which was shot at New Theatres Studio, Kolkata. The outdoor shooting was mainly done in Goa and Mumbai. The film was a ‘disaster’ at the box office front.
