So continuing in my line of light hearted romantic songs here is one more. Now this one is from the 1978 Dharmendra- Hema Malini – Prem Chopra starrer “Azaad”. This song is in the voice of Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar. It has music by RDB and the songs were written by Anand Bakshi. That means the songs from this movie were all great on the ear. What more does one expect when AB and RDB collaborate?

So now our blog is 9788 songs old. And I am increasingly beginning to feel like Sachin Tendulkar. What do his stats say? It says that he has scored 100 hundreds in international cricket both One Days and test matches put together. Now when we (my daughter and me) started sending contributions to the blog our aim was to send 100 contributions between the two of us. Then she slowed down because of various reasons (academic commitments being the main reason.) but I was having some free time and whenever the writing bug bit me I would send one across to Atul. Next came those dates when it was the birthday or death anniversary of any of my favorites or birthday of any important person for the blog itself (read Arunkumarji, Atul and the blog itself). So there were days when I used to send mails to Atul daily and sometimes I am absent from the blog for weeks. But after I got the mail from Sudhirji I have taken it upon myself to be more active on the blog and I have now reached 90 contributions on the blog (33 as lyrics contributor.) So this is what I said about “feeling like Tendulkar”.

The song that I sent last time for posting was about calling the guy home for tea and meeting the girls’ parents. Now the song which I thought apt to follow the previous one is from the 1980- Subhash Ghai directed rebirth story “Karz”. Here in this song we have two 51 year olds Kishore da (god bless him for being an all round entertainer) and Lata didi (that’s what the entire film industry addresses her as) singing “that they are sixteen and seventeen” for a 28 year old Rishi Kapoor and 22 year old Tina Munim. What I find charming is the song in its entirety viz. the picturization, the lyrics, the music, the singing and the acting. I simply admire it.

A few days back I got a very personal email from our Sudhir Kapurji. This was a personal invite for contributing to the blog on the occasion of it reaching 10000 songs. At that time we were on song number 9720. Today before writing this when I visited the blog I see we are at song number 9750. So it is an alarm bell for slow pokes like me to send contributions to Atul at the earliest. Also when I saw the mail I had mentally decided that whatever I send till the D-Day of our blog should be happy and peppy songs. So here I am with my own version of an invitation song.

The Many Colors of Love #13 – The Fears of Love
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
And so wrote the scribe. . .
ho raama darr laage apni umariyaa se
Howsoever enchanting and inviting the emotions of love may seem, there are many a heart that fear the onset. As the feelings of youth begin to sprout inside, the heart is at once both eager to savor the flavors of this emotion, and yet nervous and afraid to step into this unfamiliar and unpredictable terrain. The mind recalls many a stories told of the agonies of love and the pains of loss. Or even if one does not become frightened from such tales of sorrow, there still is a fear of the unfamiliar and the unknown.
