‘Dillagi’ (1978) is a comedy movie, with the story of college lecturers and students. It is written and directed by Basu Chatterjee. Reading its reviews at imdb website is indicating it must be hilarious somewhat on the lines of ‘Chupke Chupke’. Now that is one movie I have seen.

Rains have always provided a nice frame for romance and thus in Indian films we find many rain or monsoon songs. There are rain songs, where the lovers meet, there are rain songs, where one lover is pining for his/her partner or rain songs which celebrates the coming of rain after a long dry season. The latter being less romantic and more practical.

This is a song from Bhai Bhai-1956. It was famous not only as an entertainer, but also for its wonderful songs. Bhai Bhai-56 was one of those films of Madan Mohan which was Popular and a Hit film. Though Madan Mohan’s music was always appreciated by the experts, not many of his films were successful.

The film ‘Teesri Gali’ makes a debut on this blog today. It is one of the lesser known films from 1958. But being that the music direction is by Chitragupt, there are bound to be some very good songs included in this film. And sure enough, the song in this post is a gem that has stayed obscure for too long. A very wonderful and a lilting duet in the voices of Hemant Da and Lata ji.
